I can’t think of a worse one of the top of my head. I just saw this a few weeks ago and haven’t been this disappointed in a movie in long time. Average movie at best - but closer to bad movie than good movie.
No particular order and off the top of my head:
1. Saving Private Ryan
2. Die Hard
3. Braceheart
4. Hoosiers
5. Rudy
6. Field of Dreams
7. The Princess Bride
8. The Naked Gun
9. Shawshank Redemption
10. Unforgiven
11. Raiders of the Lost Ark
12. Road to Perdition
13. Glory
14. Empire of the Sun
15. A Few Good Men
16. Billy Madison
17. T2
18. Top Secret
19. Warrior
20. Doubt
Children of Men is an absolutely amazing film. One of my favorites
Apocolypto won’t make my top 20 - but it is a great movie and very unique.
Rounders won’t make my top 20 but it an underrated movie that no one ever talks about. It is really entertaining.
Empire of the Sun is one of my all-time favorites. It has its flaws - but it also has amazingly rich scenes that are just etched in my memory.
The Prestige is an underrated movie. It is brilliant on so many levels - especially the character arcs and the way it sets up and toys with the audience. So much to analyze in it - I liked it better my second time seeing it.
1992 Alien 3 - Major let down compared to the first two.
1995 Se7en - very good
1997 The Game - pretty good
2002 Panic Room - solid movie
2007 Zodiac - Fantastic movie
2008 The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - pretty Good
2010 The Social Network - pretty good
Layla piano solo - by Eric Clapton Good Fellas
My Life - by Billy Joel - Bosom Buddies
Ode to Joy - Schiller - Die Hard
Ride of the Valkries- Wagner - Apocalypse Now
All I want is You - U2 - reality bites
The silly meticulous things he does nor his ego should taken into consideration when answering the question of if he is overrated. I don’t care about that stuff - I just care about the finished product.
I haven’t seen all of his movies but I have most and even his worst films are still good (and there aren’t many of those) and most are really good to great.
I have never thought of him as an all-time great director, so it is hard to say that he is overrated. But do think of him as a really good director? absolutely.
I would describe it like this: some directors - I don’t care what the movie is about - I want to see it and I even read up on their future projects. Fincher is not in that category.
But if I see a movie preview that looks interesting and then I see Fincher directed it - I am more excited to see it and am confident that it is going to be a solid if not great film.
I just saw this a few weeks ago and I absolutely loved it. Such a simple plot, but the characters, cinematography and writing is awesome.
I absolutely loved the ending.
Just found this site tonight. I have really missed the IMDB boards. I am more of a reader than poster, but this looks like a decent replacement to what we lost with IMDB.
I just enjoy reading people’s thoughts on random movies. Hopefully this will fill the void a little. It seems better than anything else I have found out there.
I love both movies, but prefer the second. Just thought it was more polished, more classic scenes, and better action sequences. Both are all-time classics and T2 is probably my favorite Cameron movie. That or aliens.
