I wasn’t sure if that could be classified as manga, as it’s basically a book with some manga illustrations in it. The violence is intense and there are some psycho-sexual dream sequences. That's why biopics usually suck. It took him forever to rummage around in his foot and get the glass out. I think the intention was for it to be disturbing since it was his payback for his rape / "penetration" of the girl. All of the deaths were symbolic. Like the guy who turned a blind eye to the rape getting his eyes stabbed out.
