So how exactly do you become a true Republican? By being 100% far right extremist? Having any sorta mindfulness or open thoughts makes you a fake Republican? Again, "Dick Cheney a leftist Democrat?" He was probably the most conservative man in power when he was VP. I'd love to know your arguments against that. I'm guessing you finally realized he was a shit human being and are trying to cope? In fact, you were. I caught you red handed. Most bullies wouldn't consider themselves bullies. Word gets around quickly on these boards. I've heard other people on other boards discuss your behavior. You should consider fixing it or else you'll get banned quickly. I currently play college football...at the NAIA level, but I am a starter. We played our first game of the season last week and will play again today in a few hours. I also play guitar but I'm only intermediate at that. Well considering you bullied an innocent person on the Harold and the Purple Crayon board, I think it's ironic you now suddenly voice your opinions against it. They're already basing the film around the "getting sucked through a portal" cliche...like, why? why should there even be human characters in Minecraft? I agreed with you the first time I saw it. but after a few watches I've come around to it more because I think the point was to implant the audience into 1969 Hollywood. not really a flowing narrative or story, just time travel back to better days. in that regard, it's one of the best period pieces ever made. we are talking about the United States, where Reagan was from. I am not American i appreciate and respect your honest opinion about the movie. i did not like this film at all but I see where you are coming from with the pros and cons. i think Quaid WOULD have been great under a different, better director. at times he does transform into Reagan pretty well, like the ingredients were all there, but I think his makeup is pretty wonky at times (sometimes he has this fixed, unnaturally wide smile like Jack Nicholson's Joker) and the script doesn't give him much to do besides be stoic. he is a good actor in general though and he is the one thing that carries the movie a bit. the pro-reagan stuff was so hammy. I'm not Republican nor am I a Reaganite, though I also wasn't alive during his presidency and my family weren't American, so I don't really care. i think a reagan movie could be cool, but the idea to portray him as a flawless, genius angelic saint is the single worst element of the movie. he cant clip his fingernails without the world being inspired! the montage you mention of the barber stopping mid-shave to look in awe at reagan's tv speech was SO RIDICULOUS and the movie is FULL of crap like that. that would've been obnoxious no matter what president we're talking about. in reality, reagan was quite a divisive man, like most presidents are, and it would've been cool to show some of the more questionable things he did. like, the real guy supplied a lot of the world with weapons, including my home country, and had accusations of being very racist. he also had the most corrupt administration of any president up until that point. all that stuff could've been explored. the decision to outright ignore it and paint any anti-reaganite as a blind commie libtard feels disingenuous and propagandic, like, how DARE you defy Lord Reagan! And yes, the film is horribly edited and is incredibly boring. it just flashes random stuff about reagan's life at you in cliffnotes with an extreme pro-bias towards the source material. I learned very little about him. most conservatives still hate minorities and women, and get mad when they see minorities or women in movies. you think they'd be able to make art? that takes complex thinking skills. Where did that number come from??? I don't know a single person who wants to see this. Who was clamoring for a Beetlejuice legacy sequel? And Deadline also predicted Twisters would open with $45-50 million and it ended up exploding with an $81 million opening. So I just have a hard time buying this. no it was in fact awful aint nobody care about this snowboardin nigga but happy bday Ironically I actually do live in Oklahoma, have since 2020, and have seen a whopping ZERO twisters. I've talked to people who've lived here for 50 years and have seen only one, they're still rare even here. Though to be fair I have definitely been caught in extreme rain storms that spawned tornadoes, I just wasn't where the funnel was and the funnel itself basically lasted 2 minutes and caused no damage. Even a lot of the people who lived through Moore 2013 didn't see the F5 because of how bad the weather was. Most of them hit rural areas and 90% of the state population lives in either OKC or Tulsa. DAMN, this post is 18 years old. That's crazy. Anyways, 90% of these responses are not "180 halfway through" type films. Some are twist endings, some are twist openings. Hell, one guy who called everyone a "bunch of idiots" said Alien is this kind of movie, but he's an idiot because Alien starts as a sci-fi, ends as a sci-fi. Audition (1999) comes pretty close to From Dusk Till Dawn I'd say. Starts off as a romantic comedy and turns into a torture horror film. The Descent (2005) starts off as an adventure movie about caving, and then suddenly halfway through a it turns into a creature feature horror film out of nowhere. Red State (2010) changes genres for each act. It starts off as a high school stoner comedy, turns into a torture horror film, and ends as an action heist / political thriller. I have ALWAYS thought the exact same thing. The movie makes the vampires seem rather easy to kill, so much so that it's quite pathetic. I've never understood how such fragile creatures could ever survive for more than a few years, let alone several centuries. I've also never understood how they've killed off so many people without ever dying; this bar seems like it attracts some pretty gnarly people, like ex-cons, military type, real brass knuckle-type folk...aka, the most likely demographic to stomp the fuck outta these vampires. But, back to my first point, I think even your average redneck trucker with a pistol could kill a few of these vampires, let alone dozens of redneck truckers. I've never understood it. The vampires are way too soft. I live in Oklahoma and yes, F5 tornadoes are basically weekly occurrences, and the F1 and F2s are by the hour. Most of us live under ground. That's why our education is so poor here, we can't go outside to go to school! On the plus side, F1s are basically like light rain to us, and one of the few things do to here is to go drive through tornadoes with our big trucks. Fun times. Beats going to school! bruh are you schizophrenic Huh? Twisters is doing so well that Universal has apparently tapped director Joseph Lee Chung for a sequel. Why would they do that if it bombed? They are right, the film IS too pro-Reagan. It basically claims Reagan started the Cold War (an ongoing event that began in the early 60's) and credits him as being the guy who solved the Iranian hostage crisis in just one day! Simple Google searches will prove that neither of those things are true. Has nothing to do with an anti-Reagan bias, it's just a historical fact. Stuff like that makes the film bad, because it's basically lying to its audience to make Reagan look better.
