You said the election would be canceled. It wasn't. As I wrote ten months ago, "Still, the bet is that the election will be canceled. This means that if people vote and Democrats cheat so Trump loses, or they cheat and dear leader still manages to win, then you lose the bet and must end your account because the election was still held." You replied, "Ok. Be sure to remind me in November."
The point is whether the election is held. And it was, as every person on speaking terms with reality believed it would. If "dictator" Joe Biden had died and the election had been held, you still would have lost the bet. If "dictator" Joe Biden had died and dictator Kamala Harris canceled the election, then you would have won the bet. This is elementary. Time to pay up. Create your farewell thread owning up to your stupid claim.
Incumbents all around the world are losing (yet this election was much closer than other abroad). Harris was tied to the administration and viewed as a vote for the current conditions, which people found unacceptable.
Another reason Trump won is pretty simple: People are dumb. Look at the aggressive ignorance that thrives on this 4chan knockoff board. Natural human stupidity is why people voted for Bush in 2004 despite the disastrous invasion of Iraq. More than a third of Americans believe in ghosts. Three-quarters believe in angels. Tens of millions have bought into a cult of personality around Trump. It's not like this can or will last. In the early 00s, when GOP registration exceeded Democrats' for the first time, people talked about how the Democratic Party was done. Who could've imagined that just four years later an anti-Iraq War Black guy with the middle name "Hussein" would be elected?
This "America has spoken" stuff is so transparently dumb. It's perfect for dumb people.
Now do Republican vote totals. Democrats "stole" the election by ensuring Trump secured almost ten million more votes in 2020 than 2016? Jesus Christ, you're dumb. All of the accusations are confessions. Trump's the one who attempted to steal the election: "Find me [x] votes." In this election, he warned of massive cheating in PA without any evidence. When they saw the election going their way, they changed their tune.
Not that your anecdote is remotely meaningful but... are you saying you had a health care plan for 20 years prior to the ACA? And you didn't see rapidly rising costs prior to the ACA?
You do realize the US spends more on health care than defense, right? Obamacare subsidies are a tiny sliver, not much larger than the socialism of the CHIP (children are the biggest sponges, the little socialists; they take without contributing anything -- pure entitlement). If you're talking about administrative costs, the US spends less than a billion dollars on funding NATO. If you're suggesting Trump will cut military spending on account of the US refusing to defend (former?) NATO allies, well, that's a joke. Military spending will increase during his tenure, probably quite substantially.
It seems like most of the reactionaries on this forum enjoy lying to themselves.
