Agree. We've seen the whole "Man pines after girl. Man goes after girl. Man gets girl but then realizes girl isn't right for him after all. Man falls for the quirky side kick who has been helping him out all along" Many years ago it would be a nice subversion of our expectations. Now we've seen it so many times it is predictable.
