There seems to be some sort of conspiracy. Also generally explores concepts of existentialism, but that was already obvious from the previous trailers I feel.

I thought he was just terminally ill? And did we see him at a psych hospital? I think it was just at the hospital/clinic where Lady Bird's mother works as a nurse.
