Godzilla had two movies of his own. Kong has only had one prior movie to shine. Also, the Bride of Frankenstein is barely in her namesake movie, so this isn't unprecedented. I feel it was balanced well enough.

I'm probably the only person in the world who liked Genisys. That said, Dark Fate is miles better. Dark Fate is my favorite Terminator 3. I've only seen bits and pieces of Rise of the Machines, I never saw The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and I found Salvation underwhelming (the highlight is CGI Arnold).
