Good job...i had no idea :)
No clue would have helped me with that one. haha. I liked the movie, just that was no where on my radar. haha.
Do another! haha
Now I'm nervous of your tolerance level for a show being graphic. haha. It is a medical period piece, but its not done in a way to gross you out for the sake of grossing you out. Does that make sense?
I'm kind of bias though, its one of my fave shows ever. There are also only two seasons which is a shame. Up until us talking about it here I thought they were still doing a 3rd. Luckily it ended so that it doesn't make you feel it didn't have a proper conclusion.
I had not heard this. Last I heard they were going to set the story in the future and make it about different characters. How disappointing.
Another clue, perhaps? Or do you need another guess first? :)
No google! haha
Just Kidding ;)
We also can't just put something there just to spur activity, if that is what he means.
Yes, I do have to agree that there is too much of the F-bomb. Sometimes movies that would be otherwise appropriate for younger people are ruined by how much unnecessary cursing is in the movie. Yeah not sure why writers think this is a good idea. Filler? It can be distracting too and take away from a scene.
Absolutely! Just like in "the real world" you never know where a conversation might lead.
Yes, no one knows how many people are on this site at any time.....
:)
Yeah, I get pretty scared of spoilers sometimes so I try not to go to new movies I want to see. Despite not wanting to, I would probably be trying to figure something out from the post's title. haha
Eh, I just read the synopsis. Doesn't sound great, judging by that.
Yeah, its really not. And that's okay.
Yes, I love shows that keep you are you toes for sure. More fun that way for sure. And yes I usually wait until after it airs to watch the finale. I'm weird that way. Funny I don't run into more spoilers. haha And it can be total insult to injury as you said.
Is Halt and Catch fire on its final season you said? Or episode?
Just to jump in here and agree, The Knick was so wonderfully done. I really enjoyed it. There were a few graphic parts but it was worth it. There was little to no romance in The Knick. God I miss Dr. Thackery.
/rant ;)
I've been meaning to check out the Crown. These shows can kind of feel like a nice big novel to me though, have to be in the right mood to start it. Does that make sense?
You guys sound cute. :) I once asked my boyfriend to let me choose any movie I like for my birthday week, and he had to watch a romance from the 40s. :) All good.
oh and i keep meaning to check out passengers too, its always in the trending or new bar at the top of the page here.
I hear you. I absolutely adored Lady Cybil. And of course Thomas. I only wish I was into Coronation Street when he was playing Liam. haha. Strangely enough the only time I "tried out" that show was when he was having a main story line about getting married. Wish I would have stuck around, but too much history for me on that show and its on too often. ;) Sorry to go on about him but I really, really like how they developed his character over the seasons. Lady Edith too did quite a bit of growing over the years, but not so much Lady Mary. She was about herself the whole time I think. As you said though, a show needs a good conflict. And that it was.
And sorry you were so lonely! haha
Not sure I'll re watch it either. Maybe if I had someone to watch it with that didn't see it before? Not sure. I know a lot of episodes made me cry my eyes out!
I agree, the archives are a bonus and give content until this site can get going. It will take time, but still has lots of activity that I see. Most boards I go to have a least one post since IMDb closed their message boards and that's pretty good. Especially considering some of the movies are pretty random. And god only knows how many people are lurking and just reading and not posting.
I must say, I love how these threads start out about the website being dead, and then take on a life of their own about god-knows-what. Just sayin'
The comment about the 25 yr old granddaughter is priceless, because its probably true. I really do think nudity has gone down in movies since then. Would you agree?
Made in the 80s though? I think I remember seeing the cover at the video store! hahah
Yes, that and the fact that I didn't put it on. I don't think I would choose a movie like this. Yes, I'm sure there are some films of his I like if i thought about it. :)
Have never watched Halt and Catch Fire though. Pretty sure its on netflix now though.. so that makes it easier. I HATE when one of my fave shows end. I always wait forever to watch the finale like a weirdo. It made the Lost finale all that much worse I think.
So sad, because now summer is going away.
Was it as good as you thought it would be all those 4 months ago? :)
But that is incredible. 1,000 bands in 12 days?!
