He had a friend there or paid someone $100 or whatever to come to his apartme t so he could make sure to have the hand in video. Obviously to lend the Manny defense more credence. This guy was a cold, calculated, scheming psychopath. I wonder if Logan knew he would do that all along... Nice, yeah I was in the same boat as you.. tried it like 3-4 months ago, and the shock of the cutting/abrasive/aggressive style totally turned me off, and I don't even think I got through the first episode. Then a few weeks ago I tried again, watched the first episode, still didn't love it.. watched the 2nd episode, remaining very much on the fence... but then like third episode in, the show just got good, super good-- it all just came together, and continued to improve and stay sharp and strong through the first and second season (I'm almost caught up, maybe one or two episodes behind in the second season). Yep, it actually takes about two episodes... show is absolutely brilliant. You'll thank yourself for sticking it out, believe me. The acting / writing / dialogue / timing, it's all top notch. It definitely is trying to find its way in the first two episodes, but stick with it. Kieran Culkan is amazing. But to me, Matthew MacFadyen steals the series. The guy is one of the best actors around, and plays his role just about perfectly. Felipe (Paco’s nephew), the boy she went on the motorcycle ride with, was not one of the two kidnappers. He looked somewhat like the one kidnapper, but it wasn’t him (it was the male hairdresser who was smoking all the time). Take a look at the full cast on the IMDB page and you will see the other actor who is the kidnapper. It’s not the Felipe character. Secondly, to those on the thread complaining about the underdevelopment of the kidnappers and that we don’t care about them. This is by design. We aren’t supposed to care about them. The movie is not really about the kidnapping or whodunnit etc. It’s purely about the complexity of the relationships between the two “fathers” and the daughter, and the dynamics of the two families. The whole core of this movie is lost upon those complaining apparently... For what it's worth, I have to agree that Mr InBetween is the best thing I've seen on TV in quite some time. Scott Ryan is a force. I love everything about this show. Dude. Relax. Yes, quite obviously the funniest thing on TV right now. I think they were trying to maintain a thread of subtlety in not showing too much. I didn't mind it, however for me, I couldn't really buy this young girl being a/the murderer (during this episode, I actually thought the GF with the weirdly deformed ear did it). I actually didn't stick around for the end credits, will have to go back and catch that. Sorry you didn't like it. I do like the way you took the time to capitalize every word in your (carefully chosen?) post title though-- nice touch. Excellent thank you for putting this into words. I believe this is exactly the correct interpretation. View all replies >
