Ah! Perfect! Now I understand! Thank you AmeriGirl26!
It’s amazing that in the books and movies/series the main story is this thing called “spice” & it’s everywhere and “everything”. Too bad earth was never mentioned in the Herbert books. We must not be anywhere close to where these guys live. Because if they ever found out we existed and that there were planets & worlds, solar systems, nebulas where people lived that never contained spice in any form, and where the people who lived there had no idea what spice was and lived without it, I think this would blow their freaking minds.
Now THAT’S a Dune movie I would love to see! Them finding us and coming over here. These guys would check us out just for the novelty of it all. That would be fun!
I’m right there with you, I absolutely HATED it. It was the dumbest of excuses that he killed…..no……murdered the poor kid. Thing is i could understand if there was some sort of misunderstanding where he thought Vic betrayed him or set him up, either with Sofia or those other people, but what he chose to do made no sense whatsoever. To think, he had the nerve to call Sofia a psycho. Pot calling kettle black huh?
If his mother was still in decent shape, she would’ve stabbed him again over him doing that. She really would’ve.
Thanks RS! Kai’s “butler” I think you’re referring to “Burton” his right hand man. HE killed Rebecca? But he was under her as an employee plus I thought he accepted her. If that’s the case then I wonder what happened. That’s bad luck for Kai because even he couldn’t handle Burton, that’s how dangerous the guy is. Remember his fight with Nola? Man that was brutal.
As a matter of fact I remember more than I thought I would, regarding the last time I watched this. Remember that new character that they introduced on the show, a former white supremacist guy with all the tattoos on his body and in the last episode of the season someone came into his house with acid and was going to burn them off. Not that they were against racism but they were white supremacist too who were p’d off that this dude repented of all that. Not sure what happened to him or his story but again thanks for the lowdown. What happens to Job? The Chinese guy? Is Hood’s real name ever revealed? What about his relationship with Siobhan? What about his nice sheriff assistant? The black guy?
Oh forget it! This was a shitshow! It sounds like an odd thing to say but I enjoyed this series immensely but boy am I glad that this is finally over! This sh!t here is some bad juju. Actually felt disturbed witnessing all of this. This is absurd at best & implausible at the very least. So most of the crime lords spurn Victor but later on they come out and say “Well we were wrong, so where are you and Oz?” I’m sure most everyone who sat in front of a TV and watched this probably thought that it was a setup, but it wasn’t. They actually meant what they said and then betrayed a woman they had no reason betraying. Yeah I believe all of this, for sure.
If you watch this as a whole I think the underlying message is to not seek revenge & go all in but to walk away and let things go. If Sofia wasn’t so obsessed in capturing and killing Oz, she could’ve just drove away with her trunk full of money and that would’ve been it. He wasn’t leaving Gotham to go after her. But she had to have her revenge, just when she was “THIS” close to leaving it all behind & moving on with her life but of course she didn’t & eventually she got burned. “Grasp for all, lose all” as Aesop had observed. If she could’ve just have followed her initial instincts and said “F*k it! I’m outta here”. She would’ve had a happier ending.
Try and tell me why after she offered to let everyone have her home/territory/business would they seek to screw HER? Those guys really had a hatred and disdain for Oz, they looked down on him, not so Sofia, so they’re betrayal of her and support for him is ludicrous to say the very least.
The thing with Oz’s mother was deep. She was “that” close to killing him as a kid but chose not to. She was after all still his mother. That guy, I forget his name, I don’t think “wanted” her to choose that course of action but he was ready though nonetheless if that’s what she chose. I’m guessing after all is said and done that she really did love Oz. She couldn’t have gone the rest of her life hating him and wanting him dead. That was just some of the anger coming out after all those years but it’s also her fault too for putting up a front for all that time. But I do believe she still loved him and was proud of him for what he accomplished.
It’s funny because Oz promised her he wouldn’t have left her in a bad state due to her dementia and would end her misery but he didn’t. I guess that was HIS revenge on her for her “confession” After saying she hated him and was going to kill him when he was a child. But we all know Oz is a pathological liar. So everyone in this didn’t get what they truly wanted. That’s the end theme as it were.
Honestly I thought that woman at the end was his girlfriend, you know the leader of the prostitutes. Then it turned out to be his mom, but it was all in his mind correct? The murdering of Victor was needless and felt rushed but we both knew he would die and all it proves is that Oz is truly a monster. Makes me wish that his mother DID have him killed by that guy as a child. If anyone deserves it, it’s him.
Again this is some real bad juju here, makes me feel dirty by evening watching these events unfold. But good show, I’m just glad that it’s at and end. The last scene with the bat signal in the sky was the perfect way to bring Batman “into” this and end it. Nice touch! That’s my take on everything, hope you enjoyed it.
This sounds a lot like “Death & the Maiden” with Sigourney Weaver & Ben Kingsley that pretty much had the same plot. She suspected that Ben’s character was someone that tortured her in some conflict, not sure the country & she was a rebel and got caught. So she found him years later & “captured” him & he was like “What? No, no, not me” he wouldn’t fess up but he did it. This will probably go like that one.
Thank you! Even better stuff! I’ll be there!
This is the BEST! THANK YOU! For airing this! God, this takes me back to my youth. Remember my father showing me this movie and I’v never forgotten it. The 70’s had the best stuff! Great stuff! Once again thanks!
Cry me a river, why don’t you? Break out the violin. No one owes her nothing, she’s supposed to answer the voters damn questions as to “What are your policies and what do you intend to do and how do you intend to change things?” But she was coy, as in giving no answer(s) whatsoever and skirting the issue altogether. No freaking wonder she lost. No one wants that. Oh and YES I supported her and now I feel betrayed. One of Biden’s aides is on record as telling him that “You have more to lose than she does.” And he was right.
There goes his suppposed “legacy” right about the window. This is coming from his own biographer for crying out loud who said that. He’ll always now be remembered for bowing out way too late and not doing enough to propel Harris to the White House. Biden will be blamed more for letting Trump retake the White House. Prove me wrong.
C’mon now. Use your common sense. Of course they are dead! The only thing I’m really wondering about is if Oz knew they were in trouble. If he meant for them to get hurt or if he just thought they were locked up and that nothing was going to happen. If they were ok Burk48917, then they would've came home. Again c’mon man.
But I think there WAS a scene of him with his mother where she pretty much said something about it.
True, and even though this episode was titled “Top Hat” it came and went without Oz donning a hat of any kind. People speculated this was the episode where he wears the hat. No, sorry, not true. He watched a “movie” where the dancer sported one, now I don’t know if this is a portent of any kind but I guess we’ll see.
Victor was there in the trailers for next weeks finale. It looks like he’ll come for Oz. I’m pretty sure he’s shark bait just like you and I believe he’ll be. He’s a goner for sure, but Oz is such a b!tch, who does he have an attachment to? Who does he feel sorry for?
Now he’s captured AGAIN. Let’s see how he works himself out of this. Again Victor will probably play a part, his last part but again we’ll see.
The really strange thing is with Oz having such a disdain for the nickname “The Penguin” in what scenario would he gladly or begrudgingly adopt it and for what reason? That’s what really doesn’t make sense.
Just so you know, you CAN’T sell someone else’s soul and the stupid movie doesn’t even say anything directly about that, you have to surmise it for yourself and you don’t even confirm or get confirmation on what the demon meant when he said “We go way back”. “Do you remember beneath the tall trees?” All of this is never full explained so why knock yourself out explaining it for them?
Just saw this and I ^^ agree wholeheartedly. This might have been so much better if it WAS an episode of “Tales from the Crypt” or “Tales from the Darkside” & so on. That would make sense, as this should be crammed into 30 - 60 minutes or so. As a “film” it’s too thin which grows thinner the longer it’s drawn out.
I’ve read the breakdown on Wikipedia. Gotta admit it sounds intense. Thing is i just don’t care for movies that include projectile vomiting, otherwise again this does sound insane.
My problem is I read the description of the movie. There’s nothing even REMOTELY funny about the premise but yet they made a comedy about it. No, I don’t even “have” to see this. SMDH.
Yes I agree with you that there IS no one to root for in this. Os is a real POS. Sofia? People consider her the “hero” because she’s a clever woman who turned the tables on her family and foes. She’s only a drug dealer like any other lowlife, a psycho who killed an innocent teen for nothing, etc. My question is, from last weeks episode, was, was that always the plan? To kill her family, when she was released from Arkam or did she just think of it?
But Oswald is one fascinating character the way he’s written in this show. Too bad he’s such a scumbag.
Me three! When I saw this it was named “Tribes” and that’s how I’ll always remember it.
Yes I know all of this but I fail to see how all of this made him a “psychopathic A-hole” as you eloquently put it. Ok I can see why you’d consider him an a-hole but to me it just makes him nothing other than a man, that’s all. My impression of him was as an affable young man, no less. Never thought he was the hippie type even though he played one in “Tribes” but growing up I wish I had his good looks. I’ll always remember him fondly, sad to see the turn his life took but that’s par for the course as life is never perfect, neither are the people and things in it.
Oh I think it’s freaking great! The thing I love about it is no one here is a hero or should be thought of that way and no one (sane that is) should be pulling for ANYONE in this. Oz as I’ve said is one HUGE turd, and Sofia is in the drug dealing business, plus she killed an innocent kid (Victor’s friend) in the pilot so she’s a POS too. Much like James Cagney’s “They Made Me a Criminal” she may have been guilty of only having the knowledge that her family was in crime and murder when she was a young woman but her time in Arkam HAS truly unhinged her. Ironically she can’t deny that she IS now somewhat of what they accused her falsely of when she was sentenced to Arkam.
I’m a HUGE fan of Mark Strong but something to me was just wrong with him wearing the sun glasses all the time. Maybe that was supposed to be a tip off that he was deranged, I don’t know. Maybe if he got paid more $$$ for that episode he would’ve taken them off, again I don’t know. His time and presence must have cost enough to have him star in it. “Hey I’m being embarrassed in this sh!t. I don’t want anyone to know it’s me. What? $60,000 more for this? Sure! I’ll take them off.”
Never mind the fact that you have to have a HUGE suspension of disbelief in order to sit down and watch any of this. Oswald’s very existence is precarious at best, I mean the man is living on the very edge of the pit of hell and walking a tightrope across its very mouth. He goes to Arkam to meet Maranzano who knows what a turd Oz is and lets him know that he killed Alberto Falcone. Salvatore gets set up unknowingly where Oz gives him Carmine’s ring which I think was his all along? He then gets fingered for Alberto’s murder when people start to talk, Oz, POS that he is goes and visits him again, where Sal, now wise to what he had done by suckering him by giving him the ring, simply threatens him that “Ok, I’ll drop YOUR name to them”. That’s all it’s going to take and this IS what eventually happens anyway.
Since such a thing can be revealed at any time, as Sal’s wife eventually does, you’d have to consider Oswald a freaking madman to have done such a thing and still sleep at nights.
But having her do that, won’t that torpedo his deal with Salvatore? There’s such a thing as having balls and another thing to be flat out crazy, go for broke, devil may care. You can’t find anyone who’d gone and done what he had but ok, after all this is entertainment.
What I want to know is were there more murders after Sofia was committed and if ol’ Carmine couldn’t help himself and did kill then how were those explained and why wasn’t she exonerated? That’s IF there were which would make sense. Heck if he was that much of a serial killer then how did he stay married for as long as he did to their mom without killing her before the children were born? That’s what you call suspension of disbelief.
Did the rest of the family know it? That’s crazy if if they did. In the beginning I thought that it was a dream that Sofia was having with Maranzano’s wife & her gang where she told her about Oz killing Alberto but then I realized it was in between what Victor saw from the car that we didn’t hear until he acted. Talk about busted but Oz (Oswald) is such a POS, he really is. No shame in the LEAST. I’m only sorry that we know he prevails as the character of the Penguin is a long running one. He should die, not that Sofia is an angel. She killed the remainder of her family, even that snotty wife, the child’s mother. She didn’t deserve to freaking die, she never did anyone any harm. How are you going to explain that to the kid?
Sofia must have snapped, especially after learning the truth about Alberto and what a c*nt Oz was, but I’m debating what it was that she had rigged and who helped her. Was it poison gas or just carbon monoxide?
What she went though was horrific, at the hands of her own father who was a flaming psychopath but does it justify the deaths of who she would kill? This is pretty sad stuff in here. I wouldn’t want to live if I were any of these people.
