I stopped watching the first episode after 5 minutes because the main actress is so blandly ugly in an offensive way. My first thought was that she is Hollywood's attempt to clone a female Daniel Radcliffe. She exudes everything I hate about Gen Z, like she would start crying if somebody cut down a tree. I was certainly not surprised to find out her pronouns in her bio.
Kind of reminded me of that gothic baby character from South Park who says nihilisitc things.

Yes it's a very gross film. I just tried to watch Babylon the other day and in the first ten minutes an elephant shits all over a guy and a woman pees on a man. Had to turn it off as I was eating dinner.
Your movie sucks if you have to explain your decisions and can't even manage to do that properly. Can't believe I thought Rian would do a better Job than J.J. Abrams. I guess Looper was just a fluke.
Blade Runner and Dunkirk were the best films I've seen all year. I'd put John Wick 2 as my third favorite, but it doesn't come close to the first two. Star Wars was really bad.
As a new David Lynch project I love it. The story is surprisingly easy to follow if you watched the series and movies in total and pay attention, and I'm impressed at how they pieced this large story together with so many players on the board. It's got the right balance so that there's a tangible story that you can follow, and in-between there's still all the quirky surreal sounds and imagery that remind you that it is David Lynch without being too confusing.
On the other hand, as a Twin Peaks series return, I'm kinda confused on what Lynch and Frost's intentions are. I get that these kind of reunions are cheesy and predictable and I love that they tried something inventive rather than play it safe. Twin Peaks has been remade countless times already in other shows like Lost, Wayward Pines and Bates Motel that its almost redundant to go for the same style of show.
The focus on the new characters outside of Twin Peaks is the biggest problem. If they called the show "Mysteries of the Black Lodge" then I would be okay with it because it would distance itself from the expectations that calling itself "Twin Peaks" carries. But the show is called Twin Peaks, so stay in Twin Peaks or call it something else.
With 8 episodes left, I'm interested to see the whole story unfold so we can properly dissect what exactly the point of all this was.
I like her. Her actor does a good job at playing that part. If the kid was no good she would not come off as convincing and the whole thing would feel like some bring your kid to work prank.
On the other hand, I feel that as Emilia Clarkes role as Daenerys became more powerful, her acting became less convincing. Emilia Clarke was better in the first two seasons before she had an army, when she was just a girl playing at being a queen. Once she became a real queen her acting felt less authentic, because she isn't convincing at being authoritative and in command. Maybe you could say that Daenerys pretending to be a strong ruler is part of her character, but now in season 7 when she is no longer playing the part but living it she still seems kinda stiff in her acting.
Emilia Clarke is a good actress, but the role was stretched too far away from where she was at her best. On the other hand, Lyanna Mormont's actor plays the role of a young girl thrust into leadership with absolute conviction. You don't for a moment think she is playing at being tough, she IS tough.
seems about right to me, but I remember in the books it had a small town or something at the bottom which it doesn't seem to here.
