Yeah, this was a very flawed movie. No good plot, no tension, no action, no interesting dialogues. I only liked Bad Ape and Maurice characters for comedic element. Harelson was miscast and underwritten. This would've been good if it were the first outing, and had no big expectations set up. How on earth this movie didn't bomb at the box office? And instead it grossed like half a billion. People just didn't want to believe bad reviews I guess or were just conned into seeing it like I was.
Yeah, I was having a debate in my mind too the second I saw whether it was the real Sean Young or CGI Sean Young. But I think it was neither, it was just partial cgi, they de-aged her with CGI like they've done in before in Many other movies, like in X-Men or Joy.
Yeah, i noticed that it was a little loud for me too, I'm 39. I'd like to add that even though the music played homage to the original soundtrack it still lacked substance. There was no central theme or any memorable pieces, just long overdrawn notes and at times just pure noise filler. I even hated it at times. I was only happy one time when I think I heard "tears in the rain" play.
Two episodes really stood out for me - Nosedive and Be Right Back. Nosedive was great and kinda scary at the same idea at the thought of this actually might be happening in the near future where everyone will be rated on their day to day life interactions. In "Be Right Back" it had an interesting idea and a tale of caution on how you could bring a loved one back, but not exactly with the best results and lack of emotions. It kinda reminded me of another movie at first "Her". Both episodes are not that far fetched and can actually happen in the future. There were lots of great other episodes. Too many to list.
She's got a bit of Slovak ancestry on her father's side, so yeah.
I agree. I just rewatched this movie again after 7 years and quite enjoyedd it more than the first time knowing what to expect. It's just a "spy games" fantasy movie and it's good for what it is.
Just rewatched the movie and have to agree, though compared with Jason Bourne movies it's even much worse there which I think is the movie that started this whole "shake cam" action trend in cinematography. So blame it on Jason Bourne franchise
Yeah, I also was thinking of Avatar movie when was watching this movie.
We lost another legend this year. The father of zombie genre. RIP George A. Romero.
