While in some sense, yes, it was an allegory, I don’t think that’s all it was. I mean, they even pointed out an ongoing string of similar scenarios going back 20+ incidents. Childhood trauma played a small part in this one, but clearly the happenings in the present were the focus. This was a 6/10 for me. Barbarian was a 7.5/10.

I was being a facetious a$$ in my response. The aforementioned scene only happens in A Serbian Film, which the OP decided to reference as a way to downplay Kill List’s final scene. Don’t get me wrong, there may be some slight similarities, but I found Kill List to be much smarter and re-visitable than A Serbian Film, though I do own both. Kill List 9/10 A Serbian Film 7/10

Disagree. Realistic portrayals of terrified people in an unknown situation. Screaming, crying, and swearing should be constant. Sorry you didn’t find as much to admire in this as most viewers have. I do agree that 28 Days Later is a great film. Two different types of films though..

I hope you realize how childish you sound. If filmmakers continue to whitewash everything put to celluloid, there will be no diversity in cinema. Did this film need a Latina heroine? Maybe not. Should it matter? Absolutely not. Should anyone really believe that the final scene could be interpreted as leftist propaganda? I think I just spit my drink out... This decisive mindset is what is wrong with this country. Enjoy the film or not. Don’t make it about politics. Don’t make it about an agenda. Better yet, watch the Andy Griffith show all day. No darkies or Asians or Hispanics there!

Yep. There was definitely a piggyback sword-fight scene in A Serbian Film. And a large group of cult members standing around watching during the final shot. Oh, and multiple characters that had led the main character to his fate all bearing witness to the final act. So predictable. I mean, couldn’t they at least have left out the raping of the main character’s son at the end, since they were blatantly ripping off A Serbian Film? Wait...did none of those things happen in BOTH films? Oh, my bad. It was still an exact copy. Of the film it had nothing in common with. Just watch A Serbian Film again instead of this one. Obviously they are exactly the same.

I recommend Resolution to everyone! Such a great film! Sadly, most people just don’t “get” it. Side note=Spring (2014) is just as good (imo), although tonally very different. Justin Benson’s work is genre-bending in all the right ways. Have you seen Kill List (2011)? Highly recommend.

Meh. It was weak on the scares but still kind of fun. The ending almost saves it. Worth ONE watch, not multiple. 5/10.
