It wouldn't be hard for someone to find out when they started dating. She would have to worry about a reporter or private eye looking into their relationship. They would be able to find someone who had seen them together or track her digital foot print or some other way.. Obviously if this happened, the business would be ruined and she would go to jail.
That all being said, the entire premise of the show is ridiculous and full of plot holes. I still liked the show. I don't mind absurd things in tv shows or movies. They aren't supposed to be real life. Sons of anarchy had a gun battle just about every show. The police would rarely show up.
