Yes. He could have posted the same thread either on her board or in Politics. I'd already silently deleted his first post about her, giving him the benefit of the doubt since Jim hadn't changed GD to "everything except politics" when he was last here. I gave him the benefit of the doubt again when he posted a second political thread here, and explained the change that had been made. It became obvious he had no intention of respecting MC's rules and thought he was above them. That isn't why he was banned. If it were, the thread would have been removed. That thread was fine. He posted a third political thread after being expressly told to not do it again. A member explained to him on his own thread that if he thought a topic he wanted to post was political, to post it on the Politics board. He refused to listen and did it again anyway. https://moviechat.org/general/General-Discussion/5e1dc8b39408f218eb214088/Im-asking-the-mods Please don't spam MovieChat's boards. This is an informal warning. Thanks. The discussion about gay marriage and the transgender character threads are both political. No one's objected and asked that action be taken. Are you? I have no problem removing them both. The OP had nothing to do with the thread being deleted. Several people had commented on it objecting to a political topic being posted in General Discussion, one asking where we moderators were to handle it. They were right. "General Discussion: Talk about anything here...except politics." Yes, that's the reason. The Trump board was created, like all other boards here, to discuss his involvement in movies or TV. No one has been banned for posting on the Trump board. Members who repeatedly break MovieChat's rules get banned, after being given repeated warnings. Thanks. We try to be as even-handed as we can be. I appreciate your feedback. However, my reference to flaming was about one member setting fire to another. MovieChat does not have insurance to cover such a situation and I'm sure you'll agree one member setting another aflame is out of order and clearly against our, or any other web site's, rules. Happy holidays, Moonglum9.
