About the sequels, that's mostly true, though I do think that Freddy's still pretty threatening in Freddy's Revenge. The whole of the movie aside, the "You are all my children now" scene has long been a favorite of mine.
Obviously. A Nightmare on Elm Street is quite possibly my favorite horror film from the 1980's. Certainly somewhere in the top five.
Indeed. High Tension's still probably one of my favorite French horror flicks. Despite some inconsistencies, that had almost everything going for it, and was a thrilling ride throughout.
Second one was pretty good, but there's something about it I can't put a finger on that I didn't care for. It may just be the fact that the first one is so good (the twist and ending, in particular) that anything after it is bound to disappoint. Still, no doubt the second one is a solid movie with decent twists itself.
Indeed - while horror is my main genre of focus, I'm not averse to other genres. Just earlier today, I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark for what has to be the tenth time. :p
Many thanks for the welcome. *thumbs up*
Can't say I blame you. The series definitely went downhill after the first one. While the gore in some of the later ones are decent, they don't have a hell of a lot to offer.
Anyhow, thanks for the welcome.
Many thanks!
