I got confused...does Eddie believe or doesn't he?
Cal losing his chit is awesome, but I'm so sick of the white trash chick that it's caused me to lose interest in a majority of S2 because now she's playing an even bigger role and I didn't like her in S1. I don't know if it's the character that annoys me or the actress playing her. I get she was a great device to how a cult can suck people in because that's one question I've always wondered myself and an ok device to show who Cal really is, but she needed to end there.
Haha I agree. I'm on S3 E7 and I'm totally lost but don't feel like going back to figure out which episode I stopped paying attention at. I've been eye rolling at the amount of "sex scenes" since maybe midway through S1 I think. Seriously, when do these people have time to study? I've noticed some shows have started to do this to draw in an audience and once they have their audience then the sex scenes start to dwindle, I've mainly seen this in like historical shows (The Tudors, Versailles) or shows that people may overlook because it's their normal genre, it's like they are saying, "No it's really good, I swear! Look, see, major sex scene!" I've noticed too that when the story line needs to stretch out to x amount of episodes then they add in sex scenes bc it fills in time because they can create, make up and break up relationships for any reason without it affecting the main story line so the sex scenes fill in time that may otherwise give away the mystery or create plot holes if they create actual dialogue. Or the writers are just lazy. I work from home so I spend most of my day watching TV shows and what I said isn't true for all shows because I haven't seen every show. I don't think Sex and the City had as many sex scenes in it as half the cable shows do and that show was supposed to be about sex, relationships, and New York...I guess. I dunno, at one point I was hoping 3 of the 4 girls would get hit by a subway train, but I was desperate for something to watch and it was either that or silence. After the last episode, I realized I should have picked silence.
Sex scenes are really pointless though because all we really need to see is the part where they're laying there in bed naked under a sheet to get that they had sex. I mean I don't think they were playing video games or anything, but like my best friends Mom said, "Can't sell toothpaste without sex." and she's pretty on point bc a lot of toothpaste, gum, or breath mint commercials use sex in the ads.
Yeah, see it’s still shoving politics down our throats. We seriously have to hear this from someone at some point in our week if we don’t hear it from CNN. Oh and clowns suck & have been played out.
The theme could have been so good too. What a waste.
"Give me some Housewives, lol. Trash at its finest, but at least I can sleep at night."
YES, exactly. We have to live this political nightmare everyday and I use TV to escape it, so bringing Trump and adding some clowns was enough for me.
"maybe next season."
Yeah, I won't hold my breath.
I don't know why I have only gotten notifications for only few replies so I apologize for the delay. I missed the first AHS installment and saw it when the 2nd one was running or was about to start and I didn't really like it bc I knew there was going to be some dumbass alien garage. The only one I liked as well as the the first was Coven.
Ha, I had no idea Nip/Tuck was part of gis resume. Everything else you said was very well said and extremely true.
The shock value is no longer shocking to me anymore. What shocks me now is there not being any shock value. Anytime I watch a show now, I expect a sex scene that tries to push the boundaries and it's gotten old & I'm not even a prude! It started with that plastic surgery show with Julian McMahon or something (I don't care enough to look it up) and it's kept on going since then and it's old. A clown banging another clown on produce, seriously? Bottom of the barrel.
You're right, the story telling is just bad and I grit my teeth through Freak Show & that one with GaGa, but he twisted shit up last season and that just got too confusing. I think I'm officially done with AHS & Cult was capable of redemption, but it failed.
Scream Queens was good though.
Yeah. Man, I thought I was going to get pummeled posting this.
Yeah, I think I'm going to give it up this season. Too bad too because a cult was a good idea, but he has killed that shit. Plus, two clowns having sex? So stupid. Peace, AHS.
>but there is something about it now that makes it a chore to want to watch.
For me, it's watching them feud and then as soon as they get together to battle the new villain, one of them (usually Lucious or Akeem) does something to start major problems all over again. The back stabbing is fine and all because that's how they are, but it happens way too quickly...like within the same scene of them forming a union to go against the bigger problem they are facing. It's like you want to say to the writers "can y'all just get through this one plot line and give the illusion that things are going to change and you're going to take the story in a different direction, at least a few episodes, before you pull it back in to it being a family feud?"
It's brilliant because I imagine this is what it would feel like being in the family, but it's risky because I'm watching for entertainment so, unlike the characters, I can walk away when it becomes too exhausting no matter how much I enjoy the story line and want to see where it goes.
Right? Some people don't like the idea of marriage. His relationship status means nothing when he's a great actor. I've not seen all his movies, but he's kicked ass in the ones I have seen.
Whaaaat, for real? Is the LA CoC different the other CoC's? The mid week church (Wednesday) is normal in all of the various denom churches I've gone to. Rides to church are normal (usually for the elderly and teens that don't have a ride), but it's offered when needed and they guilt you in to taking it. Churches encourage coming to Church for the congregation, but also believe you can worship at home with your own studying or watching the service live on the their website so it's not a huge deal if you aren't physically there. The spilling secrets and stuff is odd though for other CoC churches I've gone to. The CoC I went to just says to confess your sins, like all denoms say to, but privately through prayer. It's your choice to talk to the Pastor or a Deacon or volunteers from the congregation they have approved and trained to offer support and assistance with various resources outside of the church like therapy, rehab, shelters, police, etc.
I'm sorry you got hurt by the experience though. If you ever decide to try religion again, maybe see if you can find a non denominational church. Non denom churches are basically just Pro God and doesn't have their own twist on beliefs and just stick to the basics...basically. Christianity is honestly a very peaceful religion that teaches love, compassion and just basically be good to each other, but it does have its extremists and abusers like other religions and also non nonreligious groups have. If you're a reader, check out "Jesus and Buddha: The Parallel Sayings" by Marcus Borg and you'll see what I mean when I say it's actually a peaceful religion. It's not a heavy read or anything and even if you don't believe in God or anything, it's still a good guide on how to be a decent person, even in this crappy world lol.
God that cracked me up. I wasn't really thinking about it when they tossed him until I didn't hear a thump so I assumed it just landed on someone's pool deck, but the body crashing on the table wasn't what I was expecting and was damn funny.
Yes, I'm on episode 5 and it's pretty good.
