I spend a few minutes a day at Previously TV-Supernatural but I really miss the gang at the IMDb boards. Everyone seems to have gone with the wind and never returned. Me included, sad to say.
PTV-Supernatural is quite active, but there's only a handful of posters and they all pretty much think alike and agree with each other. Which is nice in a way, but a bit bland. Plus there are so many rules about posting in the proper thread. It's like being in school.
I'm enjoying season 13 more than season 12. But not happy with these chunks of Sam & Dean time devoted to setting up the WS spin off.
I also feel Supernatural is pretty much over. It's lost its sparkle (for me, anyway). Sam & Dean don't seem as smart as before, no one stays dead, and everyone and their aunt become super hunters overnight... I'm thinking there are probably more hunters than monsters these days.
I do miss the "old gang" and think of them fondly. Hope everyone is well and happy.
All members of the BMOL should have had matching mustaches to twirl - if you're going to go cartoon you might as well go all the way. :(
Thank the lord that terrible story line is over.
Gosh - she looks like her dad, doesn't she?
Dabb finally responded to some of the hate tweets he has received
When and where did Dabb do this?
Well, Mark's definitely gone. I'm thinking it's a money issue. They wanted to demote him from Regular cast member I guess. He'll find another gig. He's a good solid actor.
It's shortsighted because I think the Crowley character had much more to offer storywise than Lucifer. But I guess season 13 will be Lucifer chasing and stealing his son with Sam and Dean in tow.
They kept the wrong Mark in my opinion.
I remember my grandparents, who lived in London during the WWII bombings, talking about how people helped each other or took in complete strangers when their homes were bombed to the ground. I remember them saying that shop fronts were completely blown out, glass windows broken, but there was no looting or anything. Everyone was in the same situation and helped each other.
Humanity is basically good, but we can be easily brainwashed to do evil. That's what's scary.
They think they weaken us - but they only make us stronger.
Unfortunately events like this really affect the British tourist industry - which brings in lots of money. Not to mention the cost of security and the thought of soldiers walking the streets. That's the downside. But the people will remain steadfast - especially the Brits (of which I am one).
The only thing Donald Trump has ever said that I agree with - he called them 'losers'. A perfect description. It's what they are. Wars are horrible, but at least in the past the two sides put on uniforms and fought. This war of the terrorists - sneaking about with bombs and killing innocents - is a cowardly war and they will NEVER win.
Getting off soapbox now.
I was cringing and squirming with embarrassment at the scenes with the two Marks hopping on one foot and poking out tongues. What on earth has this show come to? Crowley was a fantastic character. Devilish, self-serving but fun. And Mark had loads of on screen chemistry with Jensen.
Nothing against Mark P - but Luci is way past his sell by date. He's just irritating now.
I never speculate about behind the scenes clashes, but I think there was one here. Crowley's departure came out of nowhere and he died without the fanfare he deserved. I speculate he complained about scripts and TPTB said 'ok you're dead... for sure this time. Clean out your trailer".
This is my conjecture only - don't quote me. But his sudden departure is awful suspicious. And he says something about no more Creation cons. Other characters have died but the actor continues to appear at cons.
A shortened season (6 or 8 episodes) seems to be the way of the future. It's what Brit TV has been doing for years with its series. It would work well for Supernatural. Keep the show alive and and hopefully quality over quantity. And free the Js up for either family time or a movie role.
It's a win-win. I really don't want the show dragged into a 23 episode long season 14. Not with Dabb in charge.
Thanks PA. I don't think there's any real need for a member list either. I hope this site sees more action once the new season begins. As I've said before, I prefer this site over PTV. It's more like the old imdb message boards format.
I'm still pretty miffed over the treatment of Dean this past season. The "Can YOU fix it?" line spoke volumes to me. I know it's Jensen on my screen... but who is this Dean Winchester fellow we're seeing?ðŸ˜
That's very true, Bella. ;)
I really enjoyed that final season of Angel. Actually Angel is my next favourite series after Supernatural. I always feel Angel gets better as it goes along, whereas Supernatural is becoming weaker. This last season was terribly lame and made little sense. But my opinion only. :)
I really liked the way Angel ended.... they were mortally wounded and up against an army of demons, even a dragon. But when Angel said "Come on, we've got work to do" you kind of thought maybe they'd win. There's a chance.
I think the Js would be up for a movie... so we can't have them die in the finale.
It's a storyline that would be more interesting than Cas has gotten in a while.
That's what I think too. They really haven't had any idea what to do with Cas since they de-powered him. So an "AU Cas" offers a whole truckload of intrigue and suspense. He will be different - but the same I guess. An 'evil twist' as Clueless suggests.
I hope they go with this.
I prefer Alt Cas - because it's a clean slate.
I think the AU concept is an intriguing one and could be a seasonal arc storyline. It wouldn't break the budget either. It could also bring back dead characters - because in an AU realm they might not necessarily be dead (or good or bad).
But I'm thinking they'll just slog along with devil baby boy and Luci season.
Jensen always gives 110 percent acting-wise. I've never felt he's ever phoned it in.
I do, however, have a weird sense that his protection of Dean has waned a wee bit. He's willing to go along with Dabb's Dean being - well - foolish. He ad libs can't climb a 4 foot gate, talks with food hanging out his mouth, clumsy and knocking things over. He's spent much of his time losing fist fights (to girrls) and rolling on the ground, getting caught, can't fix broken guns - and so on. Like... why would Jensen not change the line "Can YOU fix it?" to "Can WE fix it?" It's a script change I'm sure he would have made in the past because it made no sense. Dean is the mechanic and Dean possesses an equal knowledge of the supernatural.
The show started out with Sam being the main character. It quickly evolved to a point where IMO Dean moved ahead of Sam. Still, in terms of TPTB the Sam character is first & foremost on call sheet. I guess Dabb wanted to bring the status quo back to the beginning. It's the Sam show. The Sam and his sidekick brother show.
And Jensen's not fighting for Dean any more. That's my own opinion. I know many here will disagree.
I'm sure Jensen's name is at the top of many casting director's lists. He'll snap up a new gig no problemo. I'm hoping season 13 will be it - and that the series ends with a BANG!!
Amy seems a competent actress and I agree she could have been more sympathetic than the version Samantha has played. I'm guessing the difficulty, of course, is that Amy would be the age and looks of women Dean would hit on. Could be awkward.
Personally I think whoever came up with this dumb idea of resurrecting Mary should get his/her fingers rapped. It never worked from the start. They didn't know what to do with the character and then we learned things about Mary we'd rather not have known.
Dean's "I hate you" broke my heart.
I'd have to watch both episodes again before judging. I think they were written for the casual viewer - not us invested nutjobs. LOL.
What did strike me was the 'smallness' of everything. I know they don't have a big budget but....
I was reminded of a show called Under The Dome. A dome comes down and covers a town of about two thousand people. However, viewers only ever saw about 20 townsfolk at any one time. Even when they called a town meeting - 20 people showed up. Where were the other thousands? It never made any sense.
Same thing here. They call a hunters' gathering and 5 people show up!! Super Sam then leads the motley crew to the Super Duper BMOL headquarters - guarded by a chain-link fence no less - which contains a hand full of BMOL-ers who are easily taken down by a few bullets.
It all seemed kinda Mickey Mouse to me.
I'll have to watch again before commenting further. But it all seemed cheap. Even the vagina world was obviously a green screen. Although it did pique my interest. An 'It's a Wonderful World' type of episode could be kinda great I think. Sam and Dean are heroes, and they've done a lot of good. What would the world be like if they hadn't been born? Kind of wobbles the mind.
A long wait for the new season.

I agree with this list from imdb. Pretty much sums up the type of movies I enjoy most.
I enjoy psychological horror the most. Slasher and jump scare type movies are usually pretty bad.
