So sad to hear the stories coming through, but so very proud of the Manchester people for coming together and helping each other out. The stories have been awful and loved to hear how women lead many girls to safety until their parents came to pick them up.
RIP to those who lost their lives, thoughts and prays go out to families.
They think they weaken us - but they only make us stronger.
Unfortunately events like this really affect the British tourist industry - which brings in lots of money. Not to mention the cost of security and the thought of soldiers walking the streets. That's the downside. But the people will remain steadfast - especially the Brits (of which I am one).
The only thing Donald Trump has ever said that I agree with - he called them 'losers'. A perfect description. It's what they are. Wars are horrible, but at least in the past the two sides put on uniforms and fought. This war of the terrorists - sneaking about with bombs and killing innocents - is a cowardly war and they will NEVER win.

shareI just couldn't get over the stories of how people were rambling around to help. I felt amazed at how Manchester came together and helped each other out. It makes me feel proud knowing what lengths people go to help complete strangers. I hate that life is coming to this that people want to blow themselves up hurting innocent children, just horrible.
There was a minutes silence today at 11 am.
I remember my grandparents, who lived in London during the WWII bombings, talking about how people helped each other or took in complete strangers when their homes were bombed to the ground. I remember them saying that shop fronts were completely blown out, glass windows broken, but there was no looting or anything. Everyone was in the same situation and helped each other.
Humanity is basically good, but we can be easily brainwashed to do evil. That's what's scary.
I agree to pond. I also heard a story where three women helped screaming girls to safety not just odd girls, crowds of girls. And a motel was used to take in the lost until parents were notified. These kinds of stories don't happen every day. Gallant acts of bravery without even thinking about their own safety. We are such wonderful human beings, those stories are what amaze me each day when you tune into the news. We club together when it counts. The Queen is visiting the hospitals today to offer comfort to victims. It's so horrific.
Bella I couldn't agree more and you know the thing that got me with the stories of people helping.
It was that we've got the election coming up and this isn't a party political thing before you ask. It is just that the working folk who aren't in the 1%, and a lot are struggling to make ends meat and have been for a long time and when push came to shove it was the ones don't celebrate were the ones that did what had to be done.
Because this happens and people who were at the train station got crowds of kids off the streets and into safe places, other go down to say they are willing to open their homes, they become rallying points and put aside their own needs because taxi drivers on the night gave free lifts and I heard that taxi drivers came from Liverpool to help ferry people who were caught up in this as well. Homeless men gave first aid and comfort to the dying too. Hospital staff who haven't seen a real wage increase in years all over came in on their off their own accord.
Because you are right we do club together when it counts and it gives you hope that humanity can weather things like this but also I hope it makes people view everyone with a little more humanity and dignity.
The same thing happened here in the states with 9/11. I was amazed how nice everyone was to each other no matter who they were. Even driving on the roads everyone seemed to drive slower and let others have the right of way. It lasted for about two weeks, really made me wonder why we couldn't do it longer.

So many feelings in my head of such acts of kindness coming through something so horrific. I remember that story too fishpan about the Taxi drivers and the homeless. The lengths people go to see that others are safe and out of danger. One man rescued a girl and even made a stretcher for her. It's overwhelming what heroic stories are still coming through on the news. 9/11 still move me aduty the courage from people was just mind blowing. How brave people were. I remember watching documentaries after about fireman going back into buildings and not coming out so sad. I remember where I was that day when it happened. It's so scary what these people can do. What devastation they can cause. There are some very sad families this week.
What happened was horrible and there is no way to fix it but every time something like this happens thousands of good people mobilize and stand against it. That's why evil people will never truly win when they are so outnumbered by the good.
