UPDATE
Your list has inspired me to order Three Kings (1999) from Amazon.
The kiss in the Reflecting Pool scene in Forrest Gump (1994).
I'm referring to Ridley Scott's Black Rain with Michael Douglas, Andy Garcia and Ken Takakura.
As for Cinderella Man, it's that high on my list because I absolutely love Paul Giamatti's performance in it. He makes that movie for me.
Finally, I guess we'll have to disagree on To Kill a Mockingbird, because I think it's the best film ever made.
Please note that I am now 72 years old. I still remember when my parents took my brother and I to see it on the big screen back when I was 11.

So there you have it.
I just finished compiling a list of my 100 favorite films (something I'll probably post either today or tomorrow),
and according to my list, the 1980s was the winner.
Breaking down my list by decades ...
1930s - two
1940s - three
1950s - ten
1960s - seventeen
1970s - twelve
1980s - twenty four
1990s - seventeen
2000s - eight
2010s - six
2020s - one
As far as which year in the 1980s was best, 1983 had five films on my list, while 1984 and 1989 had four films each.
Oh yeah, it should be noted that I am 72 years old, thus my list might tend to skew to older films.
Did you like it?
My most recent purchases from Amazon this past week are ...
Dune (2021) & Dune: Part Two (2024) on two 4K Ultra HD discs in one combo package
The Godfather (1972) - Blu-ray
The Godfather Part II (1974) - Blu-ray
note: I would have liked to have purchased both films in one combo pack, but the only combo pack available also included
The Godfather Part III, and since I refuse to allow that film in my house, I bought Parts I and II separately.
Finally, this morning I just ordered ...
Under Siege (1992) and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) on two DVDs in one combo pack which will arrive tomorrow

Van Morrison - The Healing Game (live-1999) https//youtu.be/HlVZtzSJi70
OK, I'll break two of the three ties ...
1. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
3. The Byrds
I cannot break tie number two because as someone who is unfamiliar with either band, I feel that I am simply not qualified to break that tie.
Here's a list of two Baker's Dozens of them.
Sadly, some of my faves are no longer with us, but I'm gonna include them anyway.
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band
Van Morrison
Jackson Browne
Neil Young
The Rolling Stones
The Beatles
Mark Knopfler / Dire Straits
Warren Zevon
Tom Waits
The National
Scars on 45
Sting / The Police
Linda Ronstadt
Rickie Lee Jones
Billy Joel
Steely Dan
The Byrds
The Cure
Stevie Nicks / Fleetwood Mac
Everything But the Girl
Kate Bush
Patti Smith
U2
The Corrs
Creedence Clearwater Revival
John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band
You're welcome.
I hope you'll get to see some of the rarer ones I listed.
Actually, I hope that you'll get to watch them all, as I like them a lot.
I was a student at The George Washington University in the Foggy Bottom section of Washington, DC from the fall of 1969 until I graduated in 1973.
While I agree with a lot of what you say, I was quite surprised at your complaint that the buildings were tall.
No, they most definitely are not.
By Federal law, no building in our nation's capital can be taller than the dome of the Capitol building.
As someone who grew up in New York City, that is not tall at all.
But be that as it may, I must say that DC was a great place to go to college.
I was 17 when I started and 21 when I graduated.
Freshman year began with anti-war moratoriums and senior year ended with Watergate hearings.
Definitely a time I'll never forget.
