"I have been treating people the way I've been acted towards. That rule goes two ways."
No, that is not how this site works and this is not a Bible school, so you cannot apply the old "an eye for an eye" here, it simply doesn't work that way. All I can say is that your "testing" is definitely not the right way to go... it's not. The only thing you have achieved today with your so called efforts, is to bring out the trolls, *that* you've done well.
But sure, lean back on the oldest argument in the IMDb book; "put me on ignore, if my posts don't suit you" Which practically means; "I cannot take criticism".
Hacked? 😊 By John Malkovich? But yes, he sure is acting weird. But I do hope that'll change ASAP :)
Thank you! 😊🐬
Okay, this is... well, I *really* don't get what has happened to you in the last day, Wilson, I don't. I haven't spoken to you more than once, but I've read this board today and you seem to have gone from being a nice guy to practically... a troll.
And as Dazed rightly pointed out earlier in this tread, you are in danger making a thread like this. Why? So, let's take a look at the three last ones of your own "rules" that you, yourself think would be useful on this site;
* No personal attacks, attack the argument not the person making it
* Act towards others as you would expect to be treated by others
* Be the change you want to see the board becoming
And no, it's not "Fun times eh?" What you are doing right now is offensive and I honestly don't get why. If Catbookss is the same person as on IMDb, then s/he's definitely not a troll, and shouldn't be on top of any list of such. S/he's a nice poster. And such a list should simply not exist, it should be removed. We are not here to point out who's trolls or not, nor are we here to have endlessly discussions about any nasty behaviour.
So, as friendly piece of advice; delete this thread and stick to your own set of rules. And that is not "mother fucker", as far as I know.
Thank you Cori, that's what I thought. And since Jim went to the trouble of transplanting existing threads from IMDb's boards, it's now possible to read what is said in the matter. And it's the usual stuff and ouch, lots of trolls! :( Hallström is a dog person himself and harming any dog (not that anyone would) is just nonsense.
Maybe this isn't one of Hallström's best and I really don't understand why it's not shown here, it is odd and yes, a shame. But judging by the trailers and your review, it seems like a film I will love. Pre-ordered! 😉 Thanks again!
Thank you for a great review, Cori! I thought I might had to make a thread on an empty board, and I'm glad that I found your post. I checked IMDb and its rating, I was surprised at the low rating and an even lower metascore, ouch! But it seems like the audience love it, it's been doing well in the US.
The thing is, I just read an article in the Swedish paper Aftonbladet (I'm a Swede) about Lasse Hallström and his rage over that this film is not going to be released at theatres here in Sweden but going directly to DVD, and I find that extremely odd. Hallström is truly a beloved director here, and who doesn't love "My Life as a Dog"? The film is sold to most countries in Europe, all in all 31. But not Sweden. But based on your review and a big fan of Hallström's special touch when making a film, I'll pre-order it... 😥
That's such a great improvement, thanks for your effort Jim! 🌻
You did? I guess that's the best, seems like every Politics poster is there posting the same crap. Yes, this is the best so far.
It's going to take time, but there's now a "back to the top" function and I'm sure it will be good. Heck, I've had IMDb as start page since 2001, became a member in 2007 and posted the first time on the SATC board in 2011. I've got the time... 🐌
"You're starting to sound like an SJW."
[laugh] And you're starting to sound too familiar...
Jeez, this is damaged goods... Here's a banana! 🍌 What the hell, take two... 🍌 🍌
Definitely so. Now there are people who are interested in science and there are people whose primary interest is film, and this is science fiction so you get all sorts of people gathered here. As for this site and from a cinematic perceptive, everyone should be welcome to participate in a discussion.
Remember in the beginning, it was lengthy discussions between those who claimed to have patents on science, the ball went back and forth about what was reasonable or not in the film. Then it was more about what made sense – or not – from a cinematic perspective, and suddenly every self-proclaimed screenwriter popped up like mushrooms in the forest! [laugh]
No one should have to make an excuse for creating an OT thread on any board. It clearly says so in the headline, or "Post title" as it says here. And if you don't want to participate, don't read the thread 🥂
Are you sure? ... :( Whoever you are, you seem to be a nice person and you're more than welcome to join in. Yes, Dazed is here as well as Seneika. Oh, and of course tkjoller.
I think this, and especially the Alien: Covenant board will be very active once the film hits the screen. I'm actually looking forward to it, the trailer looks pretty good to me. Keep on reading! 😊
Well, I hate to break it to you, but you missed the boat. If you had been here between 2012-2014, when this board had over 100 pages with 25 threads in each - and 95% of them about Prometheus the film - then you would've had your chance to both read and discuss the film.
This is what happens on every board there was on IMDb, it's the same with every site which has message boards. If you were here before 20th of February, I'm quite sure there were some threads left too. If you want to discuss Prometheus, go to; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1446714/externalsites
OR, start a new thread yourself, which would be the most logical thing for someone like you to do. If not, you simply missed the party.
Hi Sen! Now I've whined a bit and I'm hungry, so let's see if what Wilson (Harry?... HeCant?) says is true... 🤣
So, I'm off for coffee... ☕️ And it's the International Women's Day today 🗽 yay!
Oh and edit! BTW, where is 🐸?
⛄️⛄️⛄️
Because it has nothing to do with Prometheus? The film Prometheus is 5 years old and there were quite a bunch regulars on this board, and LOTS of OT threads. That's what happens, and preferable and friendly kind of way.
But you seem to think it's okay to act as the moderator on each and every board, and as far as I've read, you like the idea of block/ignore. So why don't you use the button and put this board on ignore? Problem solved. Thank you.
