Many societies in the past married out of necessity, logic or arranged marriages, certainly not out of love. And the ability to have sex and have children does not solely rly on emotion,. Attraction also doesn't have to be based on emotions as well but the film does not draw the line well on it. Like their distaste for artistic creations like the mere frame of a mirror even? I imagine a more Japanese type of person or a Vulcan when I think of controlled emotions with limitations on the highs and lows of the spectrum. But some here like the new partner exhibited extreme emotions like your example or whenever he sneers with pride over Preston. Also the burning and banning of the arts and literature seems to be a very extreme emotional decision to me. The problem though is their extremist views on art and literature - such extreme views ialludes to their dsire to eliminate all of emotions, not simply damper it. No need for insults. If they wish to simply have equilibrium in their emotions then why are the arts and literature banned? Even paintings is supposed to evoke extreme emotions? Even Vulcans who eradicate themselves of feeling and embrace logic still appreciate the arts like music, paintings, literature, etc. If they all took the drug, what harm could these art pieces have? Or at the very least, like the Vulcans in Star Trek. People with emotion who suppress it. But I agree, both the new Father and the new partner expressed various types of emotions: envy, jealousy, anger, fear, arrogance, bemusement, etc in public, for everyone to see. The Father is supposed to Feel, however, how did people not notice it? Preston for example is supposed to have an ability to recognize emotion, emotion he missed in his wife perhaps because he was too close to her, but was able to detect it in his best friend. So why would he not notice it in the Father? Maybe if I didn't grow up watching Star Trek, I would've appreciated Interstellar and Inception. But I've seen those concepts done repeatedly on shows like Star Trek for it to sweep me off my feet. Arrival's concept of language being linked to time is very original to me, something I have never seen before. Yes that's it! And yeah, I think we should continue this on the Star Trek boards. I just checked the ezydvd site and Correlli isn't available there. The entire pilot episode is up on youtube. I'm also looking for the rest of the episodes, I'm from the Philippines btw! Me too, I always turn on subtitles unless I've seen the movie a couple of times and no longer need it. Or even the look of Edward Norton in Fight Club would've helped. Norton was very skinny in Fight Club but had more muscle than Finn here still. I decided to watch Origins again after watching Logan, lol! I wouldn't have remembered it otherwise tbh. The audio in my threatre was really hard to follow tbh. Maybe it's the film itself that had bad audio which is why many missed it when the scientist was explaining it. You'll notice actors who trained in the theatre and early radio plays enunciate words more clearly, completely, and succinctly than ordinary film actors with little to no theatre experience. This is true for both American and English/British actors. Take Al Pacino as an example, you never hear him mumble words, he's is very pristine clear whether he whispers quietly or shouts - he is a trained Shakespearean actor to this day. It is the same for Stewart as opposed to MacAvoy. My favorite X-men films are the ff & in no particular order: First Class Days of Future Past Apocalypse Logan I like that they toned down the special effects like cgi here, it would've taken away from the film's grittiness. This looks more like a Clint Eastwood Western than a marvel The Avengers type of film. As much as I grew up watching Adrian Paul's Highlander, Christopher Lambert will always be THE ONE for me. I saw both Highlander films prior to the tv show. It's Connor and not Duncan, which is why I refuse to watch that last film. I liked it a lot actually. It wasn't overhyped for me. Yeah, I don't use the plugin on this site at all. Haha, yeah she had a very high pitched chipmunk type of voice!
