Which is what I've said too. It's why I don't like people comparing it to Mission Impossible and Bourne. The action isn't supposed to be what sells the Bond movies. The character of Bond is supposed to sell them but they've made Bond into a generic boring action hero that you can get from any other action franchise. Bond rose to prominence in an era of cowboys and westerns. A lot of the heroes didn't have class or sophistication. It's what separated Bond apart from what anybody knew at the time. Quite frankly, little has changed. Westerns are out of style but the heroes are still tough brutes that lack class and sophistication, meaning Bond, if written right, can still stand out from the pack but they've failed him time and time again.
I'm not feeling this either.
Out of curiosity, what's your problem with movies?
What do they do differently to make it FEEL closer to the original? My biggest and really only complaint against season 1 was that it didn't feel like the original at all. Take away the theme song and you'd never know you were watching a Twilight Zone show. It could be any anthology show.
First 4 seasons for me. Season 4 doesn't deserve to be that far down.
I've noticed a sad trend in Craig's films that they like to use mediocre looking Bond girls and usually have a way hotter girl in the movie but only for a brief amount of time. It's the biggest tease of all time.
It's looking like it might unfortunately. That would make Craig 2-3 in my book and no, Casino Royale actually isn't apart of that 2 believe it or not.
Really? I assumed since she's so hot, she would be the villain that would get killed off very quickly.
Indiana Jones is character rich movie franchise in the same vein as Bond. They dropped the ball with that franchise because I believe they could have followed the same template as Bond in just swapping out the actors but for some odd reason they persist in using Harrison Ford. There was talk Chris Pratt would take the role years ago but they've dissipated since.
Actually that's on topic of the discussion and the answer is no. The MI franchise is dependent on the action and the death defying stunts. That's what sells the movies. Nothing more, nothing less. The character Cruise plays is insignificant.
I forgot to mention that Ana de Armas is in this film but like Berenice, she's sitting backseat to a woman who she outclasses in the beauty department.
I don't know man. I think there are other things they need to get back to like actually getting good looking Bond girls should be their number 1 priority. The sexiest one they had in the Craig films was Berenice Marlohe and they went and killed her. How nice. I guess she was too hot so they had to get rid of her. What is with this chick Léa Seydoux? Goodness, is this the best they can find? Yikes! And now she's back for this film too. Geez. Where the hell are the hot chicks?
He said with the way things aligned up, it was just a coincidence. I believe him when he says he'll go back to the couch after Coming To America 2 because that's pretty much where he's been for the past several years. lol
He's not trying to resume his career. He's even said in interviews, he's a homebody now and after this last resurrection of his career, he's going back to the couch for good. I honestly think the decision to do all the old characters was an SNL decision which is kind of lazy but whatever. I liked the Mr. Robinson and Gumby sketches but could have done without the other characters. Also, I was enjoying the monologue until it turned cheesy by bringing out Chris Rock, Chappelle, Kenan and Tracy Morgan. Like why? What was the point of that? Would have liked more sketches like the dinner sketch. SNL really nails those produced segments. It was an average show overall but the fact that Eddie came back was really the major news coming out of that show.
I think that sense of dread you speak of is more prominent in Zodiac. Actually, I think it's way worse in that movie. You know what's coming in the murder scenes and it's just hard to watch at points like the attack at the lake.
Paul Avery, is that you?
Pretty much the same as the U.S. 2016 election
I remember watching the first episode to Black Mirror years ago and not really liking it. At the risk of sounding like those crazy binge serial watchers, I strongly encourage you to keep watching. That first episode made me stop watching it for a year or two before coming back to it.
To further make my point, I'm a fan of Black Mirror and that show is regarded as a hit. If Black Mirror was instead called Twilight Zone and it was another attempt at a Twilight Zone series, I wouldn't like the show because nothing about it reminds me of the original Twilight Zone series at all.
The majority were unknowns though.
