I guess I must've seen that version on DVD because that quality was crisp.
Have you seen the 3 hour epic "The Leopard?"
I don't know but Costa-Gavras is underrated.
It's people like you that made IMDb boards shut down.
Your title makes it sound like the 70's were not such a great decade for movies. Either way, I wouldn't even put this close to one of the best films in any decade.
"No reference", "probable inspiration". Why offer a reference to something that may not be an inspiration at all?
Those ears though.
It was weird. It looked like they were covering it at first and then all of a sudden... there is was. It also made me feel weird looking at an Amish woman, who are known for being very conservative, in that light.
Not sure what you mean from using Amish as a tourist attraction. Most people drive right by and nothing else.
And the Pulitzer for movie reviews does not go to...
Not really. While Joel is having the procedure done there is a close-up of the doctor putting a dot on Joel's head with a marker. This looked a little suspicious to me, so I kept that in the back of my mind. Throughout the film, anytime there is a dot on Joel's head, it clear that it is taking place after the procedure.
A lot of it has to do with the lack of music. Usually that can date a movie.
It is strange. They just kind of knew and that was it.
Americans don't like anything that isn't American. Enough said.
I like Bresson but was disappointed with this movie.
No. This is more crime oriented.
Tarantino doesn't give homage's. He steals from lesser known movies in hopes no one will find out.
Horror? Really?
Well, "buffet" is universal, so that's easy. "Froid" is French for "cold". In other words: Cold Buffet, though sometimes English translations will be something completely different.
