I like it enough though it gets a bit too goofy at times. This was a theatrical film, not DTV. https://ibb.co/WpYnWSj Yeah, they weren't dead, just infected. The movie even suggests that those shot in the head still aren't dead! Just immobilized. I was only 11 or 12 but I intended to. I remember calling the local theater about it a few times. Initially it was undetermined, then it was a possibility they would pick it up in its 2nd week, but finally they said that they weren't going to book it because it hadn't done too well in larger cities in its opening week. I always felt imdb ratings skewed a bit low in general. I doubt anybody rated it low just because Paris was in it. She did alright and anybody who disliked her to that extent likely avoided the movie entirely. I'd sooner chalk up the rating to young Paris fans watching it, thinking it was "gross", not liking that Paris wasn't in it that much and not liking that she was killed. But the rating seems reasonable enough. I gave it a 6. Also, the plot isn't based on the 1953 "House of Wax" (which isn't the original, it is itself a remake) but on "Tourist Trap". I wouldn't say that's accurate. You're forgetting that the Jacksons (the kids I mean) were brought up to be stars. It's not like Michael went out and achieved fame and Janet road in on his coattails. I don't think her success relied on his at all because the Jacksons (the parents) still had relationships with those in the industry. Several of the kids had recording contracts and that's all that you needed at the time to get your foot in the door with a new artist like Janet. After that, it was all in the hands of the label and MTV, neither of which required Michael to be a successful solo artist. If it were that simple, Janet wouldn't have been the only other one to make it. Now had the Jackson 5 never been successful, Janet would've had a harder time. That's assuming the family's contacts in the industry originate from that. If they were actually due to some other circumstance, like extended family being IN the industry or something, then even the Jackson 5's success wasn't really needed for Janet. According to C.C. it means nothing. It was a placeholder lyric that they decided to keep. Yes, it was shown in Baltimore as "The Weekend it Lives". Theatrical... https://www.flickr.com/photos/195340560@N08/52012246169/in/dateposted/ It always sounded like "deceased" to me, though I know that's not what it actually is. I think this is the one o.p. is referring to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3xrCALDklI Not a single cannibal or zombie in sight! I can't believe it's never been leaked or bootlegged all this time. Here's a test photo in the black wedding dress she mentioned: https://www.flickr.com/photos/195340560@N08/52001387879/in/dateposted/ I was just thinking she looks like (but doesn't act like) Lydia Dietz from Beetlejuice turned it up a notch. It's a bit at odds with the character. But is it explicitly stated she was shy before? I don't remember. Maybe she was just your typical introspective gloomy goth but moving to a new place forced her into her shell a bit. That's because (and I'm simplifying here) Julie Corman commissioned SHM 2 and it was produced without Roger's knowledge. When Roger saw the film he said "Ok, now I want you to make it again. This time for me." So "Hard to Die" is literally a remake of SHM 2. btw, both films did play theaters in 1992 as "Nightie Nightmare" and "Tower of Terror". Both had NC-17 ratings. It's more an in-joke than anything. I think it started with Slumber Party Massacre II which had a quick shot from Sorority House Massacre inserted into one of Courtney's hallucinations. At least the SPM stuff is only used for superfluous flashback footage here. Roger Corman has had entire films made for the sole purpose of cribbing 10-15 minutes of footage to build more films around, which seems kind of fraudulent to me. Make real movies! Not patchwork stock-footage monstrosities. I prefer City of the Walking Dead, even if it's inaccurate. I really dislike the title Nightmare City, it sounds like a different type of movie. I'm a bit suspect of some of the alleged alternates though. I can find no evidence of this being called Invasion by the Atomic Vampires anywhere. I know she wasn't being literal, that's my point. This keeps getting repeated in documentaries and reviews as simple fact. As far as the panties...not enough of them apparently. The only thing they got right was cutting her annoying "wigga" brother out of the movie. Now he only has a couple lines and a death scene. He used to have a bigger part. ftr, seeing something on a dvd-r site means nothing other than the movie being somewhat difficult to find. It does not mean a film is public domain. They're just selling it illegally.
