If I recall correctly Earth in that movie was thoroughly drowned, so no, not that severe.
I'm curious about your strong response. If an american sitcom was adapted for the british market, successful or not, I wouldn't loose an wink of sleep over it.
Timeline (2003), based on the 1999 Michael Crichton novel.
Especially like in the early issues.
She probably would have had a much better track record of adopting mortal ways if she had been able to physically distance herself from her fellow witches. This was, of course, basically impossible.
Your perspective on Darwin does have some merit. He definitely preferred that Samantha stayed at home and he headed off to the rat race. I doubt most people would pass up the opportunity to an easier existence, hence my conclusions about the two of them. I don't think Endora had issues with most mortals, only the ones who drew her daughter and grandchildren away from her. She seemed to actually admire accomplished mortals and enjoyed lavish fashion and good food in the mortal realm.
Exactly. If Samantha had mated with a male witch they would have simply lived within their realm along with any offspring they had together and those children's upbringing would have been very different from what was imposed on Tabitha and her younger brother. And I would argue that Darwin's atypical reaction was because he was of a fundamentalist bent of his own, encouraging her to suppress her ungodly talents after the reveal. Perhaps this was one of the reasons why Samantha was attracted to him.
This raises all sorts of questions about how much we would give up if we met a perfect soulmate who lived a restricted or isolated lifestyle? Remember all of the amazing things that witches could do in this series.
I can't recall a single episode where Tabitha was encouraged by her mother to use her natural gift. Endora was the direct opposite.
And yet she was even discouraging her own children from using their natural gifts, which seemed to suggest to me that there was more going on here.
At the time you posted this the movie was 39 years old. Frankly I'm surprised that you're surprised that people had different attitudes in previouis generations. If they ever get around to building a time machine you better brace yourself for a rude awakening if you visit the past.
Their unisex appearance. It has its roots in the Sixties.

Perhaps he was the "Norman" on the German side.
I thought they picked the girl this time around simply because she was older and could obviously do quite a bit more in her dead role than the youngster playing Gage. Compare what she did in this movie to the what the younger actor who played Gage in the original film was capable of doing.
It sounds like the kind of reaction some muslims have about showing any image or representation of Mohammed.
I think an international treaty banning wet markets is in order along with provisions to help poorer countries establish separate facilities for the processing and marketing of food products along with periodic inspections to insure compliance. Much cheaper in the long run than what we're experiencing now.
I did consider the possibility of sarcastic humor on your part and should have mentioned it in my post but as you noted being unfairly accused of racism is an unpleasant experience and I was concerned that others would leap in.
You have confused a perfectly innocent word which has absolutely nothing to do with race. The word you are thinking of is an adverb connected to the "N" word. If you conduct a search of the "N" word that adverb should come up. you'll note that the dictionary definition that I posted fits in perfectly with the remark that "aristide" posted at the top of the page. His posting had nothing to do with race any more than mine did.
