I don't think it would be better than this film, though it would be different, and interesting because of things added back from the novel that had to be left out because of time. Several years ago there was a miniseries version of EAST OF EDEN, which included all of Steinbeck's 600 page novel, whereas the feature only covered the last quarter of the novel. Was the miniseries better? No. But it was very good, and really interesting. I'd love to see a miniseries version of A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN. You've now made me want to read it again to see what the possibilities are. Thanks for that.
