It's from seven years of working for a corporation. Not a small mom-and-pop run business but a medium- to large-sized company. The nepotism and favoritism ran rampant in that organization. Here are a couple of examples:
• The company opened a facility in a nearby smaller town which created the need for a plant manager. The job was automatically given to the brother-in-law of the president.
• One day some guy was wandering around our work area. We had never seen him before. He never introduced himself nor said a word to anyone; he just walked around counting the wall sockets and light bulbs. He was wearing a shirt and tie, so he was obviously a management type. We eventually found out that he was a new hire given some pretentious-sounding title like "<i>manager of building engineering</i>." The job opening had never been posted nor was there any indication that there was a new position available. It was some sort of make-work job that had been created specifically for this guy. I never did learn his background or to whom he was related, as I left that place soon after.
I could go on. I have enough material to write a book.
And why people want to emulate this look is beyond me. It's the modern 21st Century. We should have higher standards and aspirations by now.
Exactly.
"<i>they might as well buy felt tips and start drawing on themselves...</i>"
That's what kids do. We did this with BIC pens in elementary school and got in big trouble for it. Obviously some children never learn and never grow up.
Don't do it, <b>Bennymuso</b>. The disfigurement is permanent. You can prevent a lot of future regret.
Don't do something you will regret in the future.
I'm still here, I've just been busy this past week and didn't see this thread until this morning.
I didn't know I had a fan club.
Corporate management. A lot of these are unnecessary made-up positions because the CEO had a friend or family member who needed a job. That's how you end up with numerous vice presidents, assistant vice presidents, assistants to the assistant vice presidents and all the other dead wood.
An "influencer" on idiotic sites like TikTok.
Oh, wait... you said <i>jobs</i>. That isn't a job. And the "influences" are mostly bad ones.

I've never had it. I don't care for mushrooms. And I tried beef jerky as a kid and got sick from it, so I never had it again.
I would think any store that sold organic or vegan foods would carry it. Here are some brand names:

Or you can make your own: https://hasslefreevegan.com/wprm_print/4457
That sounds like an Elvis delicacy.
You're getting nauseous because that "smell" is comprised of up to 60 different volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Some of these are ethylbenzene, styrene, toluene, trimethylbenzene and xylene. See this article for all the details:

It's another stupid term, but somewhat accurate. They are usually <i>bad </i> influences.
It's interesting that <i>influence </i> and <i>influenza </i> come from the same Latin root word (<i>influentia</i>):

These people are like a bad disease. Get a real job.
It's not "classy" but it is fun. I consider it the kickoff to the upcoming holiday season that runs until New Years Day.
I have no animosity towards the guy. I think he's basically just misguided.
Or maybe the whole persona is an act?
I'm sorry to hear that.
The holiday season (Halloween through New Years Day) is the only time of the year that I look forward to.
