I like the idea of taking suggestions on different ways to help make the site better. I'd like it if our posts were organized so we could reply to individual posts and get notified and redirected to said posts, and maintain a semblance of order. Right now everything is just a big list. Notifications, avatars to help us find our threads (lots of typed words even our names just sort of blend in), reply or quick reply button, signature lines to personalize our post, having our replies in "boxes" instead of just lines of text, some sort of way to separate each post,... Just a few thoughts... I agree. My entire reason for even going to that site was always, always the message boards. It is THE reason I even enjoyed the site at all.... To be honest, it's just a gold box. Not to mention, there's no competition, so what is there to violate? Not like they have a board up anymore. This sucks balls, it really does. Everything gone in a flash. I can't believe it. They've got a lot of cheek to tell us they're passionate about keeping their members connected. Seriously? And this is how you show it? Sadly, we'll come here to whine and complain, but they win in the end because they didn't care about our petitions or the many of us who voices our desires. Nothing matters. All gone. Worse part was they didn't even give us a warning indicating this WOULD happen IF the board did or did not make certain changes. This really blows.... I was wondering about that as well. I thought for sure they would go based on CA PST. But now it's gone. Just gone. I just read my very last post on there 10 minutes ago. They're horrible for doing this. I'm fond of both actors. I don't think they're everyone's cup of tea as they can be a bit of a long shot. But within their respective roles (as they may be type cast to certain roles) I think they're quite good and effective. Are you the same Jim that started one of the petitions to keep the boards open? Boy oh boy, did I sign those petitions to keep the boards. It's crushing to know they have no interest in our community. I just found this board so I'm brand new here. Want to thank you a bazillion trillion times over for investing in and of yourself to help us keep some thread of continuity going for us to discuss movies. You are thanked, deeply thanked! You're not alone. Don't be so hard on yourself. This is a brand new site as far as I can tell, and I'm having the same problem. In fact, I just started a thread about the same thing. There's no way to really follow your own posts or discussions or get notified so you can keep along. Perhaps this site will evolve. I liked the format of imdb and getting notifications and knowing who was responding so we could converse. This is, at least as of this writing, a little confusing and hard to follow. So no, you're not alone. I miss it already. I really hate that they've taken this route. I understand it's all about the money. Everything is. But as someone who doesn't go to the movies, I've always enjoyed the discussions of classic and vintage films. Hmm. I haven't been to the movies in so many years. To be honest, I can no longer tolerate how they seem to be getting louder and louder. Too much noise. I'd much rather wait until I can watch it at home, it's cheaper, I can pause to go pee and not miss a beat, and I can wear my jammies. That being said, I also am more attached to reading hard copy books. Can't seem to enjoy kindle and such either. I like the hard copies, paper, the feel and smell of real books. I guess the bigger, louder and brighter and faster (standing in line) just doesn't work for everyone.
