If you get the chance, check it out. It has a twist ending. I'm reminded of that old Twilight Zone episode, The Silence. This wager didn't go on as long as a year and the outcome here turned out much better than the TV episode. All great scenes! It's such a great movie, you can't just pick one!😊 I doubt it. I haven't defected to an enemy land. I've just been trying other sites. After a while, you get a bit too familiar with one set of people. Absence makes the heart less cranky! See you around....❤ Sometimes a person just has to step back from one thing and try something else. It's nice to have an alternative. You don't get so familiar with a group of people to the point where you get irritated by every little thing. That is probably part of the reason this thread ever got started five months ago. Rereading some of it breaks my heart... things really did get ugly here. Much of it simply came from getting way too familiar with each other, talking to each other every day. After a while it is like having to put up with the people you work with, or FAMILY! Everyone gets irritated by little things that get bigger and bigger. I had hoped that since Christmas, we were all being fairly cordial. Suddenly this whole thing was dredged up. Why? To show just how ironic it is that the OP didn't like one thing, so she traded it in for the same situation, which really isn't the case. Perhaps talking directly to the OP may have shed more light on the subject. I still plan to post here. Like I said, I have two sites where I can get movie talk. See you around!🐰❤ I can't really see anything that you said as bitchy. You didn't say anything bad about Dazed. The only thing I can think of is that he might have taken it as though you were talking about her... which you were. You weren't being cruel. I post on both sites. I really enjoy the features over there and the recent changes seem geared toward getting more folks to discuss entertainment. We shall see how that works. Either way, I know that when I want to check out what people are saying about a movie I've seen or if I want to discuss a tv show, I have the benefit of both sites on the individual boards. I see. You seemed to be upset with me. I honestly believe that is how many arguments start on these sites. I know that I read people wrong at times. As for Juan, I am assuming that he read things the way he did because he may have misunderstood how you feel. Perhaps you should discuss this with him. Dazed is active at filmboards. She discusses films there too. Things aren't perfect on any site. I guess it's a matter of finding a group you can feel somewhat comfortable with. I can't speak for her. I will say that I'm still sort of shopping around. I sort of like that site because the administrator is still around, unlike Jim. He is still making improvements. There are so many great features. People there seem far more laid back too. To each their own though. This isn't to say that I'm done with MovieChat. I keep hoping that Jim might return. The individual boards here are good. People really know their movies so I think that there is something to be said for both sites. If we are going to speak of the negative, there are people on both sites I'm not overly fond of. That happens everywhere. Not just the internet. Did I say that you are a bitch??? Did I even agree with the person who suggested that you were being bitchy??? No! I don't think so! Dazed didn't take it that way either! You had better read her post. She is a very kind person. She holds no ill will against you. As for me, I find it strange that this thread was even dredged up, and I said so. Anything else? This is unacceptable! You took 4 hours to respond. We at MovieChat demand a quick response! Ok. That's enough. I read that response too. I read all of it. not just the Reader's Digest version. She also sited what she likes about film boards and I can agree with that. Dazed is a very nice lady. You should have taken her post/thread for what it was five months ago. Obviously you and others didn't "get it" then. In any case, I'm not about to argue with you over old nonsense. Thank you for your best wishes. I think that there is something to be said for both sites. I hope that you and others here might join in over there one day. It isn't as bad as you make it out to be. There are some nice people as well as the trash talkers. I'll see you around, unless I have suddenly been banned from MC. Five months have passed. Isn't it about time that you get over it? What is this? Things so dull around here that you feel the need to bring this old thread out and dust it off? You certainly know a great deal about what goes on over on that site and who posts there. Oh! That's right! It's as you say.... They now have your good buddy. He obviously fills you in. A Big Hand For The Little Lady A Million Ways To Die In The West. 😉 Also Blazing Saddles! Do you think that he did what he did to that family because they splashed his boots in the beginning? Yes.. Years Ago... What the HELL is your PROBLEM???? THAT BOOK WAS PUBLISHED LONG AGO!!!!!!! by the way..... that movie??? SUCKS!!!!! SUCKS!!!!!! SUCKS!!!!!!! I am sorry... I do not get it! Why do people like this???? The shark jumps up at the end of the film..... whoopie.... BIG DEAL!!!! Sorry.... I have never understood .... WHY ARE PEOPLE SCARED WHEN THEY SEE THIS FILM????? Excellent suggestion! If the kid is going to break the rules of the school, they really don't care about going anyway. Right? So why on earth would the powers that be give the kid/s a 3 day vacation? What is the point of that? As for the OP's question, I don't see anything rude about announcing the names of the students who are serving detention. If these kids don't like it, they may just think twice about what they have done and not do it again. I see nothing wrong with this. Side note... People here are talking about this being "Shaming". I do not believe in posting student's grades for everyone to see. That is shaming, in my opinion. Grades are a private matter. Announcing the list of kids in Detention? Make it Public! Loco-Motion. That song went through some interesting changes. In the early 60s, I remember my big sisters teaching me dance moves to Little Eva's version of it. In the 70s, my high school years, Grand Funk Railroad did the very BEST version of it in my opinion. Still? I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that it was dusted off and brought up out of the basement (another basement, Stratego) in the 90s! Kylie Minogue made it popular again when my son was in high school. While he and his friends preferred the Grand Funk Railroad cover, as do I, I have to say that for a while there, I was bopping along to Kylie's version every time it came on the radio. As the kids on American Bandstand use to say, "It's got a nice beat and you can dance to it." 😊 All three recordings were fun, but this is the best... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxyU4W8iyeI Burt Mustin always played an old man. He never seemed to change throughout the decades. Gus, the fireman on Leave it to Beaver in the late 50s/early 60s. In the 70s he appeared in so many shows looking the same. All in the Family and Barney Miller, to name just a couple. You may read about him here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burt_Mustin I pretty much stumbled on it myself. I was curious and very easily hooked.
