Check it out! It looks like someone brought the boards back in all their glory... https://www.filmboards.com/board/10085636/
Wow, what a great reply Sis! Ask a question, and boy do I get an answer!
Yeah, Arabella was a hottie. I thought a lot of girls were pretty hot, but that's about all that they had to offer--not a whole lot of brains or personality.
Here's the link to the discussion that I was referring to... <a href="http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=351279"> Why Not Date Jack? </a>
But you have to scroll waaaaay down to get to the thread, which is why I don't like this one much. But they do have 15 years (and about 80 pages) of archived threads, so I'm having fun reading through some of those.
And I also found this web-site... <a href="https://www.imdbarchive.com/board/10075596/1/"> IMDb Archives </a>
This is interesting because it looks like EVERYTHING that we posted on IMDb has been preserved (except for the last week or so of posting).
It looks like we can start up new accounts and keep posting there too.
Thanks 9.
Damn you're fast!
Does anybody know how to do Bold and colors on this site yet? I'm guessing that since clickable links are possible, that they should be too?
Right on Jim! That's what I wanted to hear!
So would it be best to not post on those old IMDb-threads just yet? If you're going to eventually over-write them with the entire threads as they were from IMDb, I'm wondering if I shouldn't reply to those until that task is complete.
It's funny you asked Chippster because I just came across this site...<a href="http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=46"> Three's Company on SitcomsOnline </a>
It's got threads and posts that go back about 15 years, but I don't think I'm going to join because I don't like the format. I like the simple easy-to-scroll-through threads that IMDb and this one has. I think that I will go there occasionally and read through some old threads, and if I ever come across anything really good, I'll re-post it here.
If you-guys are ever bored, you could do that too.
There was one interesting discussion (for the ladies) wondering if you'd consider dating Jack (after dating all of the losers that that the girls dated on the show). You'd risk getting kicked out of the apartment, but he was a lot better than what was offered up as dates on the show. I'll have to find that and re-post it because I'm curious to see what you-two think. Or you can comment on it now.
I always wonder why all the guys that the ladies dated were scumbags, while all Jack dated was one hot chick after another! It seemed to me to be more of a guy-show than a gal-show, but you-two are here (and there were a lot of ladies on IMDb), so it looks like I'm dead wrong!
As for Married With Children and X-Files, I haven't gone to those boards, but it is really sad that IMDbers haven't found this site yet. I think it's about as good, and it even has some of our old threads. We can't let IMDb's awful decision ruin it for all of us!
Maybe we will have to venture into SitcomsOnline some day, but for now, I'm happy just to talk to you-two.
Sis & Chippster are my ideal roommates for my very-own Three's Company!
Oh, I see what you're saying now--Yeah, I guess their faces do have some similarities.
Not having seen your picture, I can't compare you to either one, but I can tell you one thing for sure...
You're definitely A LOT smarter than Chrissy!
{And I love reading your posts!}
{And I'm sure you have a pretty face!}
{Not to mention a gorgeous pair of exaltatas!}
{Get your mind out of the gutter--I'm talking about your Ferns!}
You read my mind SMNS. I was wondering when that would get fixed as well.
On the bright side, I'm getting faster at typing in my username and password!
I just tried it, and it worked for me. So go try it again Glenn. I bet that they just had a glitch or something.
I'm actually starting to like this one better anyway. They seem to be adding new things every day. I just wish that we could stay logged on (like we are on IMDb and TheMovieDB).
If you guys want E-mail notifications to your posts, go into your profile, type in an E-mail address, and you'll start getting those. They just added that a few days ago.
I wish that TheMovieDB would let us reply to actual posts (and not just the thread in general), but I guess it's not that big of a deal as long as we address who we're talking to in our posts. I also thought that you couldn't edit or delete over there, but you can--You just have to go to the little circly-thingee in the bottom-right corner of your post.
My next hope is that they'll let us do bold and colors and SPOILERS here soon (Spoilers are my absolute favorite!) You can do a little mark-up at TheMovieDB, but it looks to be fairly limited.
What do you-guys think? Should we keep doing both for a while longer? I think we should for now just in case others (like Tank) come looking for us and happen to find the one that we would be no longer on.
As of right now, my vote is for this one, but I think that we can all agree that a combination of the-two (as they are now) would be best. But I'm thinking that this one will eventually kick butt on TheMovieDB.
So keep doing both Glenn, and good job Teegy for being the most-active poster on BOTH boards so far.
Go into your profile and put in your E-mail address (if you don't already have it on there). Then click on "Send notifications", and you should start getting them.
I just got my first one today!
Pennywise, I didn't get any previously, so maybe it doesn't work every time?
I had the same problem over the years at IMDb. Sometimes I'd get them, and sometimes I didn't.
{And sometimes you feel like a nut--Sometimes you don't!}
{Like April, who deleted her post faster than I could respond to it!}
Yeah, I was hoping that most of the Three's Company IMDb-posters would migrate here by now, but so far, it's just me, you, and a chick named Chips!
This site is brand new, and the guy doing it (Jim) has been working day and night to try to bring all of the features to it that we liked from IMDb, so I'm guessing that has something to do with your recent struggles here (although you'd think whether it was a small or large "s" shouldn't make a difference). I'm guessing that you shouldn't have any more problems signing it as I've never had any (I just wish that it would keep me logged in).
I'm glad that you replied to my question, as it's meant for ANYONE who wants to join in the discussion (We're desperate for more posters at this point--It's so bad that even trolls are welcome!)
I'm not one of those who thought that Chrissy started off as intelligent. She was definitely cast as the dumb blonde who got dumber and dumber as the episodes went on. I thought that she fit in really well with Jack and Janet for the most part, but they definitely over-did the dumbness. Chrissy should've studied children and dogs better because even THEY aren't that dumb!
Thanks for the correction on "exaltatas" (I'm gonna make it plural anyway). Yep, that's a great episode (And if she were to put "them" in the window, there'd be something on that creepy dude that would undoubtedly grow too!)
And it actually is believable for Jack and Chrissy to think that they were really talking about "that" since it was just a few episodes prior when Janet and Helen were baring all at a nude beach (I just wonder what Stanley would have done had he caught Helen in the act!)
Anyway, I'm so glad to see you back. If no one else comes, I'm fine with just chatting with you and Chippster. We can be like our own version of Three's Company--I always idolized Jack for his living situation, so this set-up is just fine by me!
I liked the fact that I could find old threads (often from years ago) that would help me understand movies better or see interpretations that I would never have thought possible otherwise.
I didn't like the fact that those threads were often riddled with deleted posts (ether by the posters themselves or by administrators).
I wish that once someone posted something, they could delete it or edit it all they wanted UNTIL someone replied to it. Then it stays there forever. Once it's part of the discussion, it remains exactly as it is forever so that people who are late to the party (as I often am) can still read the discussion in its entirety as if it was just posted today.
Hey Sis! I replied to this thread on the last day of IMDb, and then I got an E-mail notification that you had replied back, but when I went to read it, IMDb had already destroyed the message boards. Damn them!
Anyway, I think that you make an interesting observation, but I can't say that I've ever thought of Chrissy as being like Olivia. She'd have to have much-smaller exeltatas (I can never remember how to spell that damn word) and an English accent, and then maybe I could see the resemblance.
But maybe you're just better at noticing these types of things than I am.
That would be Three's a Crowd, HippieChick!
Hah Chips, I like all of those old shows. You have great taste!
Hey don't be shy. Sure there are dingle-dweebs all over the message boards, but I never saw any on IMDb's Three's Company board, so I think we'll be safe to post here.
Three's Company has always been my favorite sit-com. I'm sure that I've seen them all many times over the years, but now (Thanks to the magic of YouTube) I'm able to watch ALL of them in order from beginning to end, and they're just as great as I remember!
John Ritter and Joyce DeWitt are my favorite comedic duo of all-time. And when you throw in early-Chrissy, The Ropers, Larry, and Fingers Furley, you can't go wrong. Even the dumb episodes are still great!
So what's your take on Chrissy? Do you think that she was just as good in Seasons 3 & 4 as the first-2? Or do you agree with me (and others) that they kept dumbing her down to the point where it just wasn't realistic at all? The fake crying and the honking-laugh just got old fast--Do you agree?
So I'm not that sad that she left the series early. It was time for some fresh faces, and while Cindy and Teri weren't comedic gold, they still held up their roles pretty well.
Here's another web-site to check out...
<a href="http://forums.previously.tv/forum/907-threes-company/"> Three's Company on Previously-TV </a>
...although not much action there either.
You're right Popcorn--I forgot that we didn't even need to provide an E-mail address to start up our accounts--Did we?
I was thinking that they could limit us to one account per E-mail address--Then it would be harder to start up a ton of additional accounts.
I think Jim needs to put that into the web-site soon before that becomes a problem. I don't think he's gonna want everybody to have a ton of accounts. Nobody needs more than one.
Hey Sis! I'm glad to see that you made it. Yeah, they were supposed to be up until 2/20 but they closed before 2/19 was even close to being over.
And hello to Ms. Chips (I don't remember that name on IMDb but if you didn't post much, that would explain it).
Yes, let's keep up the discussions. Right now I'm binge-watching the Season-4 episodes on YouTube. They're funny, but as I remember, there were complaints that Chrissy got dumber as the seasons went on, and boy were they right.
I liked her lots better in the first-2 seasons.
Hey guys, you can also try out this web-site...
<a href="https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/2686-three-s-company/discuss/58a254bf925141538b00091b"> Three's Company on The Movie DB </a>
But that one's not really hoppin' either.
I've seen that happen too Faridah. You get into a fight with someone, so you put them on "Ignore", only you can see that they're still replying to you, and sometimes even on other boards. So while you're "Ignoring" them, they're stalking you (and getting in the way and messing up all of your discussions!)
After reading through this thread again, I think we need to make it crystal-clear what the difference is between "Ignore" and "Block" as I'm not sure that I understood the OP's (and others) request correctly when they say that they want a "Block" (as they may just want IMDb's "Ignore").
"Ignore" is where you can't see (or reply to) someone's posts anymore.
"Block" is where they can't see (or reply to) your posts anymore.
So I like Faridah's idea where it works both ways in that it's a combination of the-two. So whenever you "Block" someone, you can't see their posts, and they can't see yours.
Now, if at some point you decide that maybe you acted too hastily, you can still "un-block" them. The other person (to get you back) might decide to "block" you, but that's the price that you might have to pay when deciding to block someone in the first place.
I still think it's the best way to go.
Itsy-bitsy Inan went up on Soggy's "spout"
Down came the rain and washed her mouth right out
Out came Teegy, and he dried up all the rain
And itsy-bitsy Inan went up Soggy's spout again!
{Keep up the good work Teegy!}
