Very impressive effort.

Great cinematography, camera work and aesthetic. The concept was pretty interesting. The acting was decent.

The only real issues are the handful of naff jump scare attempts and the run time. It's 1hr51mins and could have done with a bit of tightening up. Trim 15 or so minutes from it and remove the silly jumpscare attempts and this would have been stellar.

The fact that Sean Ellis was the director, writer and cinematographer was impressive. Talented individual.

A must watch for Horror fans.

Agreed, very well done period horror film. Fantastic cinematography and set pieces. Great horror atmosphere as well.

It's such a shame the film had those feeble jump scares.

As I stated in the OP. A slightly quicker pacing and the removal of the silly jumpscare attempts and this would have been a largely flaw free film. A good effort nonetheless.

The camerawork was fantastic.

Just finished with it and this is spot on. This movie looks beautiful, is atmospheric, and I thought the monster looked good. The only real downsides were some of the jump scares and the longer run time. Overall it was a good experience
