A departure from the book

The book is about the world running out of oil ,
the scarcity and imminent shortages of oil . the amount of oil .
with secondary terrorist plot to kick things off.

The series is entirely this terrorist plot , done in the name of eco-warrior climate change.
No mention that oil is running out so we will have to go solar etc before this happens
No consequences of a world without oil shown either - which is the main point of the book.

Still , its an ok "espionage thriller" type thing.

Not a patch on the book or its sequel.

The last scene does make the point that the required changes will not happen until our hand is forced , either by terrorists blowing up oil supply line - or it just running out.

Although it seems to think, incorrectly, this will happen with minimal disruption , instead of the billions starving and dying and complete collapse of society for decades if not centuries.
