Re: The Dessert. (Spoilers)

So these people just decided to sit there and let themselves get burned alive? The same regarding the cooking crew? No one even tries to fight back? It made no sense to me. I woulda ate a few marshmallows, grabbed a bite of chocolate off my head, and went out swinging. Actually, I wouldn't have let it get that far. When dude blew his brains out, I'm like, "Time to act."

Maybe something was in the food.

Movie was interesting. Dark I went into it not knowing what I was watching. The build-up was good. It got more and more intense as it went on. But at some point, you gotta wonder what the hell is wrong with these people.

"You gotta wonder what the hell is wrong with these people."

The movie itself makes that point.
He tells them: you could probably manage to rebel if you really tried, but you don't.

It could have been explored more, or explained clearly.
It is instead left in the air.
It is more surrealistic.

It is also a reference / ripoff of The Exterminating Angel.

even after he says it, they don't.

reply

Yes, that is a point the movie is making.

reply

Yep I got the point.

The whole movie is symbolic. Most people can't think in this way because they are used to things being explained.

reply

Then step up and feel free to explain.

Watch a youtube analysis of it

Did you?

This review in IMDb is a bit long but very well-written about the symbolism in the movie
