He goes on to downplay the success of other gay movies because the actors were straight. The cope is real.

I shouldn’t even have to say this, but it’s acting. The only thing that matters is that they can pull it off convincingly on screen. Gay actors also take straight roles all the time too, if you have to look to an external source to find out the actors sexually it shouldn’t matter.
This might be the crux of this movies problem. They cares more about putting together an all lgbt cast then they did about getting some known actors. share
The notion that only gay actors can play gay characters is insane and ensures that the best actor for the job will be overlooked in most cases.
