Who exactly is the target audience for this movie?

This is a gay rom-com

But women are the primary audience of rom-coms in general so this movie is hardly going to appeal to them as they won't relate to the character dynamics. Even if they are lesbians it wouldn't appeal to them.

Straight men? As a rule they are not into rom-coms so this movie hardly appeals to them, add the gay element and it becomes even less appealing to them.

It is like they went out of their way to make the least appealing movie possible and...succeed at it if the box office is any indication. Yet considering the amount of money spent in the marketing they did expect it to be a big hit. The people behind this film seem out of touch.
