4.2 on IMBD
And looks like it's gone full woke from the comments.
Anyway I will try to see it.

There's always a shitload of fake 1* ratings/reviews when there's a female lead. Rating rose to 4.4 9 hours later.
Metascore is 66. I prefer the last review: https://www.metacritic.com/movie/shadow-in-the-cloud/critic-reviews
16/100: This is an excruciatingly stupid movie, and the nicest thing I can say about it is that, at 83 minutes, at least it’s over quickly.
There's also a lot of fake 10 ratings from SJW's who will never see the film themselves but like to promote it because of a female lead.
Anyway, I think the premise is stupid, it would be stupid if it were a male lead mind you.
The underlying arc of the story could have been okay, it was the ridiculousness of the things that happened in the film that made it down right comical and not in a good way. You can't have a lead that is in the situation because of being helpless and the target of abuse become a cross between Superman and Wonder Woman because it defies the logic of the movie. You want to have a movie with gremlin/monsters in it, okay fair enough. Silly but the audience can probably go for that... but you simply can't write a character that is at one point wimpy and then suddenly superhuman for no apparent reason other than you wanted the character to be the strong badass. The movie doesn't deserve 4 stars, it is at best a 2 star movie. It would be a one star movie but the production values are good which is sad. You spend all that money on how the movie looks and didn't bother to go over the script. It really seems like the script was just a quick draft or one that was written by multiple people with none bothering to make sure that every page written was in sync with the other writers work.
shareThe irony of saying this when most reviews are negative complaining about the "feminist agenda" and some bullshit rants about poor white me being under attack. You think those people saw the movie? Or are they just jumping on the latest fake outrage bandwagon.
shareJust seen it and for me it's a 6/10.
It didn't seem that woke and it was fun to watch.
And let's face it, the guys actually acted like ... guys in the '40 ..
Chloe was quite good.
I just finished it and thought it was a lot of fun.
There was a bit of wokeness but not so much that I felt like turning the film off.
I agree that Chloe was pretty good here. Considering that she got her big break as Hit Girl and then did well here, perhaps she should just make action roles her thing. Yes, she's tiny, but just give her a weapon to make it realistic.
I'd give it a 7/10 pretty easily.
Incels are gonna incel.
sharedon't listen to the haters, it's a fun little b-movie, original enough in terms of tone and story.
the cgi was quite good for a low budget flick, except for the daylight shots towards the end.
Pretty much my thoughts exactly.
It felt fresh and like something different from every other action movie coming out, and Chloe did well in the role.
While I thought the twist regarding the box's contents was underwhelming, overall I thought it was a good film.
5/10 ,,,maybe 6/10 ,,,,,,The creature design and CGI where good I thought , it would of been better if it was astetically darker . I do get the comments that are being made about her superhuman abilities , haha , they shouldn't of had her climbing upside down on the undercarriage of a plane during a dogfight for sure !!,,,
shareI had a lot of fun watching Shadow in the Cloud. The year is short, but it's the most entertaining new film I've seen so far! It was like a mix of The Twilight Zone's Nightmare at 20,000 Feet crossed with Amazing Stories' The Mission, but packed with a whole lot more action. The cast was great, especially Chloe Grace Moretz, and the synth score was terrific and catchy.
shareYeah, it was fun, and I'm glad you mentioned the score. It definitely caught my attention.
I thought it was well-executed and felt fresh and, like you said, Chloe did well. Considering that she first came to prominence as Hit Girl I'm a little surprised she hasn't done more action roles.
The IMDB and RT audience scores are dumb. I have to think people are just being little bitches.
It's a 2020 movie, not 2021, but I'm just getting to it this year as well. However, even if we count it as a 2021 movie, I still wouldn't say it's the most entertaining I've seen this year. That honor would have to go to Run Hide Fight. If you're not familiar with that one, here's a trailer:

I can accept some of the over the top action, but the explosion blowing her back up through the hole crossed a line. Also, the men being utterly useless didn't play well. At least a couple of them should have acted like, well you know, men. But, I still kind of liked it for it's gonzo bonkers premise, and Chloe Grace Moretz, with her unusually masculine physical capabilities blended with feminine qualities, was perfect for the role. Clearly though, this flick portrayed a very idealized feminist statement, with the woman doing quite literally everything. It was so in your face that it was a bit off-putting, even for my wife. All in all, I enjoyed it, though.
And I thought the exact same thing, with it being a blend of Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (The Twilight Zone) and The Mission (Amazing Stories), but I'd also throw the Heavy Metal B-17 segment in there as well. In fact, apparently an earlier concept for B-17 had the plane being terrorized by monstrous versions of the legendary plane-sabotaging gremlins instead of undead zombies.
Have to agree about the score also. It was quite striking at times.
Synth soundtrack was fucking amazing. It's like a character of its own, it felt alive.
sharePeople who have seen it and rated low must be fun at parties.
