Yet another BS comic book film - lol

I haven't even bothered downloading the latest offerings that came out this and last year - but I did give Aquaman a chance. There's one sequel that I genuinely enjoyed - it was Thor: Ragnarok. Why? Because it was a film which fully understood that the franchise was in the process of overstaying its welcome and opted to poke fun of the whole thing. The script and the comedic timings there were all great.

Aquaman - the lost kingdom was only the first sequel, but it's also a part of the universe which has pretty much overstayed its welcome - if they ever decide to do slapstick comedy like that Thor sequel, it might be worth a watch. As things stand.... this film is ridiculous - boring - and like the rest of the comic book film BS, ends with SFX galore that's designed for the tiktok generation which isn't.

Still, supposedly this film made its money back - just barely.
These days, I see so many great films made for 20-35 million and so much garbage made for 200 million. It's interesting and weird at the same time - money laundering is too obvious these days.
