Just finished the 8 episodes, my thoughts

1). The best part of the show, by far, is Albert Wesker. At first, I was turned off by the decision to cast a black actor (Wesker has always been white in the video games and other movies; to cast a black actor randomly just seemed like wokeness). But in the end, the actor who played Wesker in this series was awesome! One of my favorite scenes was the flashback involving the clones in the research lab: the original Albert Wesker seemed so cool.. I wish they had focused the series on Wesker.

2). On that last sentence ^, I get to my biggest gripe. The lead actress and her sister were the focus on the show, and unfortunately, their scenes were cringe. I think the actress who played Jade is just awful. The scenes with her Indian husband Arjun were 100% wokeness, indicating that the woman is the one wearing the pants in the relationship. Specifically, Jade goes around kicking ass and being brave while her sissy husband stays at home looking after child: clearly, Netflix is pushing an agenda relating to feminism. The high school scenes with Jade and Billie also seemed too low-stakes and out of place in a zombie / apocalyptical series.

3). The music is damn awful! Who the hell figured they should play Billie Eillish so damn much

When I saw the first episode I was a little baffled they were supposed to be married, it's like they didn't have scenes to practice before and they just started filming that scene right away, they are a couple but doesn't seem like one.
