Super high production value and the train / bridge explosion was edge of my seat stuff but too much CGI and a boring plot with no conclusion in sight for part 1
Super toned down violence. Intro was good but fell flat onwards. Shea Whigham /Greg Tarzan Davispart was pointless.

Stupid fuck mixing two separate franchises like they have anything in common besides the leading actor.
Both summer hits, both starring TC, one came out last year. The other this week ? Easy to compare. Top Gun is a better film.

Balls. It’s fantastic and a more than worthy entry in a franchise with insanely high standards.
Last act was phenomenal and the action towards the end was truly nail biting.
Perhaps not as strong as Fallout overall but it’s only a Part 1 so we have to see how the story fully plays out before judging it as a whole.

Writing, directing, editing, and acting all seemed inconsistent and could have been better. Too much CGI. Story felt inauthentic and at times silly.
But there was still plenty of entertainment. The basic idea was interesting, and the locations, action scenes, and Cruise made it worth the watch.
