Did Wong break Abomination

out of prison? Is his sentence up and he's free now and hangs around with Wong?

reply

It was some reptile creature, reminded me of one of the He-Man characters

reply

Pardon?

reply

That was my response to the OP saying it was abomination.

reply

But...it was the Abomination. And OP is wondering how he got there.

reply

I didn't know it was him but after my post last night I went looking and read some articles. I like his current look.

reply

Ooh, I got ya. They changed his design. It's Blonsky. Been confirmed.

reply

This cameo is one of the things I disliked about this movie. They put this shit in the trailer without expanding anything on it at all. It was just meaningless scene.

reply

I know they likely did it because he's going to be in the She-Hulk show, but like you said, no explanation or purpose to it at all.

reply

It was kind of baity imo. There weren't any characters from the movie that the audience was familiar with so what better way to get them into theaters than with him? Only to appear for a couple of minutes.

reply

KIND OF LIKE THE GUADIANS OF THE GALAXY?...OR ANY OF THE MARVEL FILMS REALLY...AS THEY ALL FEATURE B TIER CHARACTERS FOR THE MOST PART...ANT-MAN ANYONE?

reply

In their defense they take what they can get. Sony and Fox up til recent held (and still hold) a lot of the A Tier characters (Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four, etc). I liked the first Guardians movie and was impressed what they were able to do with a comic series that wasn't widely known. Ant-Man was a founding Avenger in the comics so I guess B-Tier is a fair assessment. Wouldn't go any higher or lower.

reply

When Wong opened the portal to take Abomination back, it looked like he was taking him back to the raft. I think Wong is just training him and maybe helping him work through his issues.

reply

I saw someone say that on Facebook too and actually looked for it, but couldn't make it out. I am curious if he has permission to do that or not.

reply

I don't know why Wong would go through the trouble otherwise.

reply

Marvel heroes been doing whatever they want A LOT lately. "Heroes" just breaking laws they don't like all over the TV shows. It's entirely possible Wong is doing this without government permission.

reply

To what end though? If he was doing it without permission, why would he bring Abomination back to the raft?

reply

You stated it in your first post.

reply

Yeah, but to what end would he be doing it illegally? What would he stand to gain?

reply

I wouldn't think Wong would involve himself in "the material" for kicks & giggles. I doubt he's breaking the law by staging cage fights with Blonsky. I agree with EvilPinata that more likely it's some form of rehab or "working through issues"

We know as far back as the Coulson shorts released with "Thor" that Ross actually wanted Blonsky on the Avengers, so there must be some degree of control or at least understanding.

While the Hulk film didn't suggest as much, it's my understanding that the comic Abomination does have at least normal human intellect. Maybe the same is true of MCU's Blonsky.

At the very least, Tim Roth is credited in this film, which suggests Blonsky was meant to be intelligible during Wong's backstage conversation with him

reply

Abomination is also set to return in the She-Hulk series so this probably serves to show some character development before then. Maybe he'll end up on Val's team along with US Agent and Yelena.

reply

Now THAT makes a ton of sense in light of Val's appearances so far

Has anyone checked on Hannah John-Kamen's schedule? Maybe Ghost and Zemo are being lined up to join them

Is there a Marvel equivalent to the Suicide Squad?

reply

I'm really hoping Ghost returns. It'd be a real shame not to bring that character back. If love Zemo to be part of that team too, though I don't know if US Agent could play nice.

The team that would make the most sense is called the Thunderbolts. Initially because they were put together by Thunderbolt Ross and he's usually on the team as Red Hulk if I'm thinking right.

People also have theories of the Dark Avengers, but they're bad guys pretending to do good while the Thunderbolts were usually bad guys actually doing good. At least that's how I understand it. I only started really getting into Marvel comics the last five or six years so my knowledge might be lacking some.

reply

If we don't see Ghost again, I'm gonna be fucking pissed off.
