I liked it

It's a solid MCU entry and I think one of the better ones - but not exceptional.
I liked the cast, nice seeing Tony Leung and Michelle Yeoh, I thought Awkwafina provided good comic relief and so did Ben Kingsley when he unexpectedly turned up.
I also liked that it wasn't overwhelmed or over dependent on the CGI. Inevitably there was a lot of it but perhaps because it focused on - excuse my ignorance - kung fu fighting most of the time it was well used rather than the reason for the scene.

I also think it was a solid movie... though I do not agree on Awkwafina and Ben Kingsley... I thought those 2 where the weak part of the movie and I would actually have liked for those characters to be cut out... I think it would have served the story better... Maybe keep Awkwafina while he is in San Francisco but let her stay there when he leaves... And I have no idea why they felt the Ben Kingsley character served any purpose other than an unnecessary nod to Iron Man 3... but then again let him pop up and then dissapear again as fast as possible...

If those 2 character's roles had been minimized it would have been an even better film...

And I loved it. Zero complaints here! Hugely delightful, kick ass and superbly crafted film (the aforementioned Awkwafina & Ben Kingsley couldn't have been better in this, glad to know many feel the same way). Just decent? Nope, I say it is excellent; a true MCU great. Yeah, I’m with a great majority on this one (as usual). ;) Deserves all of its praise.

For me it sneaks into the top 10, good action sequences good humour, interesting story and character development. I can take or leave cgi when it's on such a grand scale (i.e the end action sequences) but they did it well as you'd expect.

I went in with no expectations as I’d never heard of the character.the only time I had heard of the 10 rings was the iron man franchise. I was pleasantly surprised by the movie the cast was decent in there roles the fight scenes were well done my only complaint would be the finale was far too dark to see much of what was going on

reply

That's interesting because I often have a complaint that a film is too dark but I didn't get that with this one. I saw it in the cinema and your post implies you did as well so I wonder how much it's affected by the viewing conditions?

The fights scenes in the village were fine but the dragon stuff was much harder to make out for me anyway

I wanted to like it soo bad - I want to like all Marvel movies - but I did not. I found it extremely flat and anticlimactic.
