After watching the pilot episode I asked myself "why should I watch the next episode" and I drew a blank...

The pilot is Youtube so I did try and watch it. Not very good. The problem with Ridley Scott films any more is I don't care about any of the characters, which means the story better be damn good. This isn't.

shareBefore judging a show I always give it at least a few episode watches before deciding to continue or not. Pilots do not always give the best impressions if it's a slow starter.

The people that keep saying, "give it time blah blah blah" are THE REASON we're get fed this mediocre garbage. We're need to be more picky, not forgiving.
The concept of pilot has lost all meaning in this generation of "give it time, it gets better"
yup. sometimes, evolution is in the wrong direction... but they will never really see it.

There have been whole seasons of TV that have been bad or mediocre that have improved vastly with later series.
Star Trek Next Generation and Babylon 5 spring to mind.

shareYou keep watching hoping it gets better (it rarely does) and you end up watching the whole season because you want to see where this thing you've invested your time in ends up regardless of how much it sucks and then you come back for season 2 because "hey..., Maybe it gets better"
It's like drugs.. they are bad but if you keep taking them you get hooked
Understandable that you drew a blank. The series is not for you. No worries, plenty other stuff.
