So, nobody's talking about Loki coming out of the closet?

On the train, when Sylvie asked him if there had ever been any contenders for Princess consort, or Prince... he said, what, "A little of both"?

As in, admitting what everyone had suspected all along?

reply

LOKI HAS ALWAYS BEEN BI,OPEN-MINDED,FLUID,WHATEVER...ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THEY'RE SPELLING IT OUT NOW I GUESS.

reply

Apparently they didn't spell it out in large enough letters for the angry fanboys to notice.

reply

Or people just stopped caring altogether.

reply

Neah, Loki is just an interesting character. It's not just a character planted there to make a point ...

Have you seen banshee? My favorite character in that show is Job ...

A lot of times people don't care about this kind of things because they are done in a natural way and not in "LOOK AT ME, I"M SO GAY (or whatever) AND THAT'S ALL ABOUT ME!"

reply

You can't trust anything Loki says.

Indeed, any man talking about sex, is to be taken with a grain of salt.

reply

True, and true. However, there are a few circumstances that led me to think that he might have been telling the truth, or a good part of the truth, for once.

For one thing, he was talking to "himself", an Alt-Loki, someone more likely to be able to tell when he's lying than the average schmuck. For another, he had absolutely nothing to gain by lying, and a bit to gain by telling the truth (establishing a little trust). And finally, who the hell could believe Loki is straight.

reply

There nothing in the movies that indicate any of that shit. If i was going by the movies. i would think he was Asexual (that means he dosn't care about sex). Not Bi or Pan or whatever.

reply

LMAO...YOU MIGHT BE DENSE.

reply

And you might be obsessed with people sexuality that you have insert sexuality into everything.

reply

PEOPLE SEXUALITY....AS OPPOSED TO FURNITURE SEXUALITY?...TOM HIDDLESTON'S PORTRAYEL OF LOKI IS RIDDLED WITH SMALL CHARACTER MOMENTS THAT BACK UP MY POST.

reply

Assuming Loki is "asexual" based on the Thor/MCU movies is as reasonable an assumption as assuming he is gay or bi fwiw. There has been nothing overt in the films to suggest he is "bi/gay" except your own assumption.

reply

Yeah, there’s nothing to indicate that he is or isn’t bi. I’m fine with it as it doesn’t contradict anything but we never see what his orientation is in the movies.

reply

He called Natasha a "mewling quim" (whining cunt). That was very, very, gay.

reply

Dudebros say the word cunt a lot. Especially if they are British lads. I kinda think gay guys would be more likely to say bitch.

reply

Actually, the equivalent would be more like "stinkfish", but you can't say that in a Marvel movie. So they used antique words to get it past the sort of people who complain about bad language.

reply

LMAO...HOLD ONE LITTLE GUY...LOKI LOVES THE PUSSY...JUST LIKE YOU...HE WOULD NEVER TOUCH A FILTHY OL WEINER...BE STRONG...YOU GO GIRL!

reply

Pretty much nothing to do with my point, but okay Kowalski, "you go girl" with your fake moral outrage.

reply

🍆

reply

There are plenty of people on Twitter talking about it. That's an example of why I never use twitter. I am actually interested in....you know...the STORY and don't care about what kind of sex the characters are having. We have never seen Loki have any kind of romantic relationship, and from his mannerisms and appearance being gay or bi-sexual is quite plausible. But other than that don't care, so we can move on.

reply

There are tons of articles and things talking about it. Not too many people seemed bothered by it.

reply

It's almost as like if it fits with the character and doesn't take precedence over the story, no one is bothered.

reply

Nobody's talking about it?? It's all everyone's talking about!

reply

The show sucks, so nobody cares.

reply

Not that big of a deal anymore.
Have you ever seen a superhero show on the CW?

reply

Loki being revealed as gender fluid / bisexual seems designed to placate critics of Marvel not featuring LGBTQ+ characters in it's films. Marvel's largest overseas market, China, is notoriously strict about films and TV that promote homosexuality. It's worth noting that the Disney+ streaming service isn't available in China, either.

The end result is that we now have two variants of Loki: the crowd pleasing gender fluid Disney+ version and the completely sexless blockbuster movie version.
