Dark comedy . . . ?
I've heard people criticising this for various reasons but I took it as a dark comedy and really enjoyed it.
shareI think that's definitely how it was intended. Which I didn't really catch on to until the weird conversation with the doctor. It's a very strangely toned film, with dry satire mixed with little hints of broader, almost SNL-style parody (the orientation film for example). It doesn't quite work in my opinion, but I get what they were going for and respect the attempt.
