RT 97%, why the high rating?
This movie will be average at best.
shareThe trailer sucked, it was actually just awful, so wouldn't be surprised if that's doing something. I was genuinely confused what the movie was even about when the trailer showed before a movie I went to
shareI've caught the trailer a couple of times and I think I understand what it's about - not the least bit interested in seeing it though despite a few favourites in the cast. I also suspect the OP is correct, critics have given it very high score but it will probably struggle to find an audience.
shareI had no clue what it was about from the trailer. I saw it based on recommendation and the idea of a murder mystery appealed to my wife and I.
shareI was genuinely confused what the movie was even about
I don't even remember writing this comment, but I also don't really get your reply? Not sure if I wrote it after or before watching it, but either way, I'll tell you that's it's a pretty awesome movie and one of the better ones from the past few years.
share$120 million box office world wide over TG weekend vs a $40 million budget.
shareIMDB says only $70 million world wide. Where are you getting $120 mil?
shareSomewhere other than IMDB.

I'm not your monkey
shareBox Office Mojo says $70 million world wide. You're a liar like Rian Johnson and all his fans.

You know, I've been disappointed in every Star Wars movie since the original but I have let that turn me into an asshole.
share''You're a liar like Rian Johnson and all his fans.''
Yes, because his post somehow confirmed that he is a Rian Johnson fan.... -.-
The movie has made 41 million in the US, so 120 million worldwide isn't that far fetched.
shareWhat I saw said the sales were expected to be updated late today.
shareThis type of movie is usually not very big on International (aka Chinese) market.
Indeed, this movie got more than 50% earning from US domestic box office. For a total $300mil, 160mil was domestic and 140mil international.
It's on track to do all right.
Not a terribly big budget movie at 40 million, so it doesn't need to be a huge hit.
Well, that could be explained by the fact that more people see it (which is confirmed by the grossing), the more people vote so higher are the chances that there are more bad reviews while if less people see it there are less bad reviews (less review overall). Even though on Rotten Tomatoes it is not the public but the critics that vote (in my knowledge). But this is just a theory.
shareOnly idiots quote RT's stupid percentage. All it means is %3 of critics rated less that 6/10. The same on Metacritic.
Get over it, everyone but stupid trolls like it! https://www.metacritic.com/movie/knives-out/critic-reviews
