Ugh, Pickard is such an uninspiring character

One of the things that might have worked about Star Trek: The Next Generation is that they tried to downplay the captain, from the egotistical scene-grabbing Capt. Kirk to the smaller, balder, quieter and less aggressive Jean Luc ... even making him French. The point of that was to let the other characters in the cast have their story, but it didn't work because Star Trek still has a thing for the hierarchical system of command. No such luck though, Jean Luc turned out to be ever bit the ham-fisted actor that William Shatner was.

Yeah, but at least he was intelligent, unlike Kirk.

You are now going to get the senile Picard version - your dreams are about to be realized ;)

Interesting comment on hierachical system of command. Can you have a command without one?

Starship by committee? Like a commune?

Sir, the missile is approaching us from the left and will hit us in 20 seconds. 1) I say we move to the left. 2) I beg to differ, if we move to the right, we'll have a better approach on our target. Let's put this to vote!

Boom.

When there are starship battles, it will be a chain of command based on committee ... a committee of AI. Humans are far too delicate and slow to polite, navigate and do fire control in the non-insuitive environment of space.

STFU, Brux!

Picard was a wimp. That's all that ever needed to be said of him.

Your low IQ is showing

You'd be a wimp to if you were only 4 feet tall.

They really failed with the French part, I always knew he was French but always saw him as English, what with his love of Tea (Earl Grey), Shakespeare, Gilbert ans Sullivan and the British Navy etc.

Good point, what is he doing sipping Earl Grey when he should be cutting the cheese all the time? ;-)
