Writer bitching about nudity on show
Article below features comments from four actresses “uncomfortable” with nude scenes being written by creator Sam Levinson.
In one case, it wasn’t even an actress. Adult film star Chloe Cherry was asked to be nude in one scene, which she said in other interviews she had no problem with, but then her male(!) co-star was uncomfortable with it so it was changed. Seriously?
The tone of the article implies Levinson is some psychotic sex fiend forcing women to strip against their will, even though in each case he simply made a suggestion about a scene and then dropped it if the actress didn’t want to be naked.
At one point the female writer asks, “it raises questions of why so much nudity was written into the script in the first place, and why the show’s stars felt like they had to approach Levinson to express their discomfort.”
Why? Because hot naked women are one of the reasons people watch this series. And nudity can add much more impact to an emotional and powerful scene. There are a lot of Oscar-winning actresses and filmmakers who feel that way.
A few comments:
1. Regardless of what social whiners tell you, female nudity is still very popular, but ever since metoo some people with way too much influence want it banned because, in their puritan opinion, it supposedly “demeans women,” though I guess the other situations they’re put in in this series don’t?
2. Stop treating any male filmmaker who includes nudity as some perverted predator.
3. Stop accusing viewers who want to see nudity as perverted predators.
4. Stop trying to convince actresses who are fine with nudity that they’re being abused or taken advantage of.
5. Finally, just shut the fuck up and stop trying to censor everything.
