So Rue owe's a lot of money to Laurie for the drugs she never sold that were flushed down the toilet.
When she goes back there to tell her it seems like maybe they were holding her prisoner but she escapes and literally nothing else happens.
It's a small town and a drug dealer is just going to give up on finding Rue after she escapes when it would be really easy to find her? That doesn't make any sense
The finale of S2 was disappointing in many ways, lack of resolution on the Laurie plotline was one of them. Hell, they didn't even reference it in any way. Including a small scene towards the end where Laurie is dispatching someone to find would have been great IMO, because as you say we cannot seriously believe she will just drop it.
I think holding her as prisoner was just to frighten her into compliance, it was meant by Laurie as a taste of what's to come if she doesn't show up with the money soon... But now she is waiting for way too long, so I really hope they pick this up towards the beginning of S3.
Maybe a scene where Laurie's goons are packing Rue's excised organs into small ice-filled cooler boxes for sale on the dark web.
