What about...
...the three laws of robotics? They don't apply here because the creator is an irresponsible female a-hole, which is the highest qualification you can achieve these days?

sharePretty sure Gemma said she gave M3gan protocols to prevent her from harming people, but clearly she never watched movies, because sentient AI's always evolve past those protocols.
shareWasn't there this dialogue when Megan says that Gemma never really cared about teaching her but had this job done by another app? Hey, what can go wrong?
sharebecause when Isaac Asimov dropped the laws on the unsuspecting human population he actually had something to say.
shareThe three laws of robotics don't apply here because they are not actual laws that every writer has to follow when creating stories that feature robots.
share^^ this.
shareLikely obvious, but it should also be noted that something like the Three Laws would have to be specifically programmed. They are not inherent. No one here has said anything that would imply that they were, but I have seen discussions were people believe that the act of building a robot would mean they have to follow Asimov's laws.

Hmm...we are talking about writers and robotic engineers. Both groups are known for doing a lot of research. Isn't it hard to do this research without stumbling upon Asimov's laws?
shareI don't understand what you are saying. It is very likely that the people who wrote the script WERE aware of Asimov's laws. It doesn't mean that in the fictional universe that they created, those laws would necessarily apply to their fictional robots.
This is like saying "there are dragons in Game of Thrones, how come there are no dragons in Lord of the Rings?"
I am always out when it comes to "fictional universes". I think science fiction can also take place in the universe I live in... Maybe - when they try to talk about "fictional universes" - they should just alter the color of the sky 🤔
